According to the exam description on the CLEP website, you will also want to feel comfortable with the other broad topics they list suce as logic, the real number system, and the additional topics mentioned from algebra and geometry. If you have not read through this exam description, I would strongly suggest you start there.

I`m looking for a fairly easy and fast college level math to take to finish my Gen. Ed. classes for ECE. I`m not really great at Math. I like the DSST tests, but I`m afraid it will take me too long with the calculations for a math class. Any suggestions, even for another way of taking this class. Thanks , Rosanne

This test wasn’t that hard, and I’m NOT by any means a mathy person. Take a few practice tests/quizzes, use the Official Clep Study Guide, and go ace that test!

If your school accepts it, I'd recommend using ALEKS. It's quicker and cheaper than the CLEP.

Hey Chalmers,
Keep at studying. When you think you have a topic down, keep working on it. The nice thing about math is that the facts never change. 1+1 will always equal 2.
One good resource is
Khan Academy. They also have practice problems that you can use to work on the things you need. I would work on some geometry now and make sure you know the algebra. Good luck!
