I'm still in denial a bit, but I think I'm going to need exactly 1 more Arts and Sciences credit for Excelsior when I'm done with Info Lit. I'm not opposed to the idea of taking one more history CLEP or something, but does anyone have any alternatives I may have overlooked?

Excelsior accepts the FEMA course, IS-242 Effective Communication, as an Arts and Science credit. All the other are Applied Professional/Free Elective. It would cost about $60 to transcript through Fredricks Comm. College.

Check out DSST Environment and Humanities: Race to Save the Planet.
EC shows it as a natural science and math. Fairly easy, as we are all pretty much tuned into this stuff.

You are so close!
I am considering my options for getting one last credit for my associate degree. The only arts & science credit on my list of possibilities is ALEKS.com. $20 for one month + $40 for ACE transcript (Just make sure you are not getting too many credits below the level of calculus. I think they allow 3 courses worth of credits.)
Please, let me know what you decide.

Wonder if Excelsior will classify NFA Q318 as behavioral science? That's one of the possible subjects the course falls under according to ACE.
At any rate, congratulations!

Thanks for the responses so far. I am thinking right now that if a FEMA transcript or ALEKS subscription + transcript both cost $60, I would rather just do another CLEP or DSST. I think the transcript would look better that way, I can get reimbursed for it (GI Bill), and honestly I don't think I would mind studying history some more. I like learning about wars.
Unless someone can come up with something else that hasn't been mentioned yet...?
Also, a clarification: I am not 1 credit away from graduation, that's just what I need left for arts+sci. I still have yet to finish Ops Management, so I can't start celebrating yet!

I believe the cost to transcribe 1 FEMA credit @ FCC is now $75.

Thanks Peace!
Since that's the case, I'd just take another CLEP or DSST if it were me. The cost is about the same and it would be less transcripts to request and pay for if/when you apply to grad schools.

I had an "aha!" moment. Instead of using a couple of weeks to study for another history test, why not just do DSST Criminal Justice? That was the one test I ever failed (47/49) because I took it cold like 10 months ago. I can redeem myself for that flub, probably with only a couple days study!
Maybe by then CSU Pueblo's Blackboard will be back up too, and then I can finally get back to Ops Management.

That sounds like a great idea! I love it when things work out that way.
