Natural Science fail
#11
zmama32,

I contacted an advisor at your school through the online chat function and received "verbal" conformation that the school accepts straighterline for credit. Here is the transcript of the convo:

R*****: Welcome to CUNY School of Professional Studies Live Chat, how may I help you?

sam: Hello, I noticed the bulletin stated ACE credit is accepted. what is the policy on that?

R*****: Hi Sam.

R*****: Please hold one moment while I research your question.

R*****: Sam, when you mean ACE credit, are you referring to the credit by exam format?

sam: NO, I have credit from Straighterline, which is ACE accredited in addition to other non traditional credits such as CLEP and military. My main focus is Straighterline courses and ACE accredited courses.

sam: Just in case, ACE stands for American Coucil on Education

R*****: Sam, have you obtained college credits from a traditional college at all? and what is the total number of credits you currently have?

sam: I have traditional credits also with TESC and Saint Leo college. I have over 70+ credits. I am trying to make maximum use of my credit and wanted to know if Straighterline was accepted. Here is the excerpt from CUNY SOPS about ACE:

sam: The American Council on Education's (ACE) College Credit Recommendation Service has evaluated hundreds of formal courses and examinations that are taken outside of traditional degree programs. For a list of corporate training, military training, and other professional credentials that may be eligible for ACE-evaluated credit, see the ACE National Guide to College Credit for Workforce Training. For more information about ACE please contact us at 212.652.2869.

R*****: Sam, I've just checked in with an Assistant Dean and he has confirmed that we do not accept credits from Straighterline.

sam: That is AWESOME R*****! Thank you for your help. Who is the Assistant Dean?

R*****: In order to apply to any one of our undergraduate degree programs, you need a minimum of 24 credits and a 2.5 GPA. As long as your credits are from an accredited institution, CUNY SPS will try to maximize the number of credits you transfer in.

R*****: Thomas Jennings is our Assistant Dean of Registrars- Thomas Jennings | CUNY School of Professional Studies

sam: Well tell Mr. Jennings thank you and once again, thank you for your help. Have a great morning.

Rokshana: Sure Sam. You're very welcome.
Rokshana: Thank you for your interest in the CUNY School of Professional Studies. Please do not hesitate to contact us again.
sam: no problem. have a great day.
CLEPS Passed: 10 DSST Passed: 11 TECEPS: 1

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.
