What degree you are getting is irrelevant to if you need graded credits. It's what you're doing after the degree that dictates that. I'm getting a BA in History and Psychology from TESU - yet I still need a substantial number of graded credits for what I intend to do afterwards.

I have always felt that labs should be done on campus. There is a significant difference in titrating online versus titrating in an actual lab. There are a lot of human variables that are eliminated with online labs in my opinion.

not to sound contrary, but she needs 1 credit lab from COSC for her degree in elementary ed. Seriously, go to Rio and get the nutrition lab for $215. Save your money and your brain space for ACTUAL elementary ed classes. Take a BIO nutrition course for 3 more (4 total) from study or SL (both can give you graded credit at COSC) and nutrition is relevant to early childhood ed in SO many ways, so it's a win. Then do something else for the last 3 credits in science (probably finish your subscription to study or SL) and call it done.

The OP specifically said what their goal is - a 4-yr degree in EC.  If they wanted to let us know about further goals, they probably would have.

If you say "I want to go to grad school so I need some graded credits" or "I want to go further to get a BSN degree", then the advice would be different.  But they specifically stated a goal, and the advice should be towards THAT goal and not another one.

Normally, I would absolutely agree, but I've been teaching for 2 years and know that this is what I want to do. I'm an English as a Second Language specialist. I am not a scientist.

YankeeDoodle, because you're going for a Charter Oak State degree in Early Childhood Education, they only require two science courses.  You can take the easiest two from Study.com, Nutrition, and Biology with Lab.  Those are the 7 credits you require.

I completely disagree.  For most people, especially those that do not want to get a STEM degree, why in the world would I want to waste my time in a lab?  I took 3 years of labs in high school, I do NOT need to spend another second doing it in college (as a business major).  Honestly, this is just an arbitrary requirement at most schools, I don't think it's important at all.  For MOST degrees.
