Hi - I'm new here and am looking for some advice. I need 6 science credits to fulfill general education requirements with TESC. My choices are to take either the Biology or Natural Science CLEP. I tried take the Biology about a year ago and missed by 2 points....since then several people have suggested taking the Natural Science CLEP instead. Has anyone here taken both? If so, which one would you say is "easier?"
Also, any study tips would be greatly appreciated. Originally when studying for the Biology I watched some college biology lectures, read the "Complete Idiot's Guide to Biology", (I've found these to be good test preps), and made flashcards, but memorizing detailed info has never been my strong point...
Any advice is most appreciated!
Thanks!

Personally, I think the Natural Sciences CLEP is easier. I did take both. I scored a 48 on each of them. Now, I found out that I don't have to take it for my EC degree. Natural Sciences is way more 'general' than the Biology CLEP, but...it definitely covers alot more subjects. I would suggest taking a look at
PinkMonkey.com-450+ Free Book Notes,Study Guides,Chapter Summary,Online,Download Booknotes . They've got alot of great stuff on there. Ummm....
Rader's BIOLOGY 4 KIDS.COM ,
chemistry4kids.com . These are all great resourses as well. I hope this helps.

i would say biology. its more focused then natural science in ways. Natural sciences is just a big over view of everything.

I have taken/passed both. The Bio exam is of course entirely focused on bio, while the NS exam is a composite of bio, chem, geo, astro, & phys.
One thing though, although the exam is a composite it is roughly 50% bio so I always suggest that one takes the bio exam first, then bone up on the balance of the topics while keeping bio fresh and the sitting the NS exam.
