Good luck. I've got a provisional "I qualify" statement from them due to my background and current teaching status. We'll see after I actually apply and get word back, however.
I'm also still waiting to hear back (and apparently will be until February) about the UCA program.

I hope you hear back from UCA soon!
So they emailed me back and said I was not eligible for the program, I asked if I am a UO of the people instructor if that qualifies me. I can not express enough how much I love American history!

Did you hear back from them yet if they'll allow you to enroll in the program based on your time as an instructor at UoPeople? I'd really like to hear from some community members here in the near future about their experiences with this school and the MA in American History. I'm interested in doing this too.

Excellent! I am glad to hear that the information I found could be of use to you. It makes me happy to hear that a community member was able to apply there. I see that it is in your signature block (which is awesome and must make your commitment official LOL). I hope you keep us informed. I would love to do this program as I have had a hard time finding an online masters degree. If you're interested in a story on how I found it here it is:

I was planning a vacation for my girlfriend and I to go on. She knows that I am obsessed with colleges/universities. I am not too far away from Gettysburg and I have been there in the past. We went this summer and this fall for a nearby annual apple festival. I was watching The Office S8 E8 "Gettysburg" and thought to myself that going there again for a deeper tour of the area would be awesome. In due part, I owe it to Andy for taking gang and me there again. Anyway, when I was younger, my brother's friend's sister had recently went to Gettysburg for a ghost tour. I was looking up ghost tours to do in Gettysburg and found that their prices were exceptionally high. However, under one of the ghost tours pages, they stated that they would take you around Gettysburg college as part of the tour. I didn't know that there was a college. Knowing me and my habits for attending as many schools as possible, I was interested in their tuition rates and if they offered any masters. Lo and behold, I found that $7,500 MA in American History. I knew as soon as I found that I had to post it here with the community. So, I am glad to hear that due to The Office convincing me to go back to Gettysburg, I found a pretty great college for other members to explore.

Again, please keep us informed about how the courses are here.

Edit: I see you dropped the UoP M.eD program. Funny enough, I applied there a couple weeks ago as a voluntary instructor to teach undergrad business and education. I also did receive email from Penn State University to teach undergrad business management in business ethics, but they want me to travel 5 hours a day every Tuesday and Thursday (yikes).

It turns out that I am a teacher. I'm not a history teacher, but I will still give that application a try. It looks really interesting. I work abroad actually as a teacher trainer in TESOL (Cambridge Celta and Delta). Anyways, I got my teaching license once in ESOL, and got an endorsement in Biology. I will see if I can get into this program.

You have to be a Kindergarten-12 teacher... or whatever your national equivalent is.

College instructors or other adult educators do not qualify.

I was curious about this thread to see if anyone had any success with enrolling in this program. Were you able to get in?

I got in and went all the way to registration and then ended up getting into a DA in English Literature which was a better fit for me long term so I had to drop this program, which royally sucks. I was accepted into three really wonderful programs and ultimately had to make a decision. I know I will regret not having time to do this program Sad
