Thank you!  I am so embarrassed that I just didn't get it today.  So, $389 is like a flat-rate fee that covers up to 12 credits, whether a person develops 1 or 3 PLAs, it will cost a one-time fee of $389, is that right?  I appreciate your patience and kindness.

The 389 is a flat rate up to 12 credits. So if you PLA for 3 credits it'll be 389, but if yoh PLA for 12 credits it'll also be 389. It's worth it if you do more than 3 credits. I encourage PLA for hard to earn credits, so if you can do a test for it don't PLA it.

The 389 is a flat rate up to 12 credits. So if you PLA for 3 credits it'll  be 389, but if yoh PLA for 12 credits it'll  also be 389. It's worth it if you do more than 3 credits. I encourage PLA for hard to earn credits, so if you can do a test for it don't PLA it.

I've spent the weekend thinking it over (researching and talking it over many,  many hours) and I do think I will change my degree plan.  Although I have really wondered why TESU doesn't "open up" that particular degree because I think a lot more people would go in that direction if it had the alternative credit options like the BSBA, or the other Lib Arts concentrations.  There are so many great "health and wellness" alternative credits already out there it would be wonderful to be able to use them for the AoS.  Also, then, a student could go in the direction that most appeals to them under that heading.  So, although getting this degree this way doesn't appear to be as fast or easy as some of the other plans, I am glad there IS a way to this degree.  On the bright side, it still fits our desire to earn credits in an alternative way, faster than the traditional 4 year plan.  Also, it helps meet the RA requirements.  I'm still working on the "actual" degree plan, slowly, and I hope the way I am working it we'll also get 16 credits from TESU meeting the residency requirements.  My study partner is a great (strong) writer and, although it is a harder path this is the path he is going to take.  I love writing, I know I am in the vast minority because I loved the Sophia English Composition II course. :-).  I just hope it will translate well for me to love to write for a PLA, too.  The "test" will be the PLA-100 class.  Thank you for bringing this option up for us to think about!!

TESU didn't "open up" any degrees - alternative credit providers started creating courses that would work in the BSBA for instance, because it's a VERY popular degree.  So many people do business degrees that there is a ton of demand for those courses, and companies are more willing to spend the time and money needed to create a course when they know it's a popular one.

I doubt that nearly as many people want a Health & Wellness degree (if they did, many more schools would offer them).

Okay, I see.  Yes, I agree and take your point that business degree alternative credit courses would be much more valuable to those companies than any other.  I was looking at it from the wrong perspective, I should look at it through the lens of the alternative providers (makes perfect sense) rather than TESU.  I literally looked at dozens (and dozens) of brick and mortar schools over the weekend and most of the ones I looked at offer a Health and Wellness degree in some way or another (either through liberal arts, health science, even psych) so I took that to mean it was at least a somewhat popular degree.  Perhaps in the future the alternative providers, who are already offering some classes in Health and Wellness, might more closely align their courses to meet TESU criteria, that would be nice, :-).

I wasn't saying that no schools offered them, just that it was not as popular as a business degree.

or at least not in time for my degree plan, ha - but hopefully, in the future, on-line, alternative will open up more and more.  Here's an off-topic question, though:  I'm not sure where the Sophia Introduction to Information Technology fits in a lib arts degree plan - is it a General Education Elective?
