Another quick update: I gave a false phone number when I signed up for the Kaplan PLA course (one was required), and I just received an email from someone there claiming to be my new Assessment Specialist, and requesting I give them more info so that they can help me with my PLA to get credits. So, if you complete the course, they will be contacting you to try the upsell. Just an FYI to everyone.

Deucess, can you be so kind to tell me if TESC applied the Kaplan course to your general education requirement?

Is there any doubt they would? PLA 100/200 can either go under gen ed electives or free electives, and as far as I know this still transfers as those. I just finished this tonight but won't be sending my ACE transcript in for a while.

The General Ed requirement list changed as of 7/1/2015. If you're in under the old catalog, PLA counts under Intellectual and Practical Skills. Under the new catalog, it is not listed in their GenEd courses at all. So it would probably count as a free elective only.
And they credit you for your courses on date completed, rather than when you send them in.
So it's just a matter of which catalog you're under.

I had already met my GEN ED and free elective. I just took that class cause it was easy. I am a credit hoarder. To answer your question, TESC has it listed under my "OTHER COURSES". July 2015 catalog or earlier it would be recorded under GEN ED or free Elective.

I love how you say that! I think I might be heading that way... besides free/easy, I also just like to take the classes I am interested in as long as they are reasonably priced, and then hope I can eventually use the credits

I spoke to academic advising about putting on my eval. as a "planned course". It's under my general ed electives, not free electives.
