Just me or are these enrollment specialists extra pushy?
#1
I would have sworn they actually worked for the school if I didnt read that they dont on here. They are just contractors. This lady had me order my transcripts while I was on the phone and set up an appointment for me next week and demanded that I call her back if I cant pick up.

They have called me every single day since I applied but I never answered or called back. My status is now "accepted" so I'm curious if they will continue calling or not.

Oh, they will continue calling. I get a call roughly once a month. They mention that I took classes from them two years ago, tell me when the next term starts, and try to confirm that I will be enrolling for the term. I then tell them I graduated from UMPI a year ago. That usually, but not always, shuts them up.

They are worse than used car salesmen! They are just awful. I still get contacted once in awhile. I have 2 UMPI degrees. Most of them know very little about YourPace or the whole transfer process in general. I never answer their emails or phone calls. I started marking their calls as spam so now I don't even see them.

Damita the Enrollment Specialist got so bad that I asked Jessica for some help. She sent an email to her and I never heard from her again.
She actually started to get way out of line, such as if I didn’t email her back she was asking what my problem was, why I was offended, etc. It was very strange.

Do they typically call from a specific phone number? I mean is there a way one can differentiate them from real university staff? or do the actual university staff only handles communications with students via email?

Wow! That really is over the top. Not to mention a HUGE turnoff to potential students. I would have emailed her back and told her she was my problem and to never contact me again as I was filing a complaint with UMPI. I did that with one who emailed me in all caps demanding I return her call and email. I'm like what are you the Queen of England? Get out of here.

They were calling from the same number at that time. It is not an UMPI phone number. So I just blocked that phone number. I've had phone calls, Zooms, texts, and emails with different professors.

So the official communication with the university during the admission and credit evaluation process happens through email or calls from an UMPI phone number. Anything else can be ignored as it's probably originating from the enrollment specialists.
