I'm planning on enrolling in TESC, and, need 3 cr. hours of math yet (since I have 6 of biology already). I'd like to get the highest level in math of ALEKS I can...but...may need to start at begining algebra as it has been a while.
The question: With ALEKS, can I take begining Algebra & work my way up, then, only ask for college credit for 1 of the classes? I know it doesn't make much sense...I have the math credits...why not use them...but...I already have most of the credits I need from testing, and, there's nothing I have yet to do that I want to loose.
Tests I have left to take:
American Gov CLEP - 3
Mathematics (ALEKS.com) - 3
Principles of public speaking- DANTE - 3
Technical writing- DANTE - 3
Human resource management DSST - 3
Principles of supervision DSST - 3
Thanks everyone for your help!
Graduated from Thomas Edison State College with a BA Communication degree on September 9, 2011.
About 90 credits taken through independent study
(CLEP, DSST, FEMA, TECEP)
Do, or do not. There is NO try.
I can do anything I set my mind to doing.
The lesson isn't in the ending, it's in the journey

The answer is yes .....you can start and stop a course anytime you want,,,,all previous work will be lost.
Suggestion....why not try an assessment at the level of math you want to see how you do.....

Perhaps you should transfer them all to ACE anyway and then apply just the one you want towards the degree. That way the rest of the credit is there just in case. Never know when the college will change the requirements for graduation and you will need electives or math credits and it costs nothing.
One and only one of the stats courses is applied as 300 level credit at TESC if I'm not mistaken. I cannot remember which.

She has a great deal of talent.
I discovered Anne Rice as I skipped nearly 1/3 of my classes senior year of high school. Much of that time was devoted to lounging around in the library reading her books. At about week two the librarians were curious about what periods I actually had classes. By the end of the 1st semester I knew them all quite well.

The first 30% or so went by okay but now the topics are taking a looooooooooong time to get down so methinks this will drag out a few more weeks. It doesn't help that I'm prepping for a cert test on September 10th so ALEKS is secondary until that's done.
I'll get there, it'll just take much longer than I originally thought.
Lot's of angst along the way too...
