Can anyone recommend inexpensive (and short) courses or preferably exams to test out of upper level Arts and Sciences credits? I'm ready to dump EC since all the credits I need are UL arts and science and they are hard to come by via exam. I'm ready to switch to TESC (already accepted but not enrolled) where it's less of a hassle and I can also use my FEMAs (for free electives). EC is applying most of my UL credits as LL general electives since they don't fit the major (and they don't offer a major that the credits will apply to, mostly org. leadership or management) because they are NOT arts and science. I'm a little annoyed by this. It's LIBERAL STUDIES, not ARTS AND SCIENCE studies. Upper level should be upper level.
I still hate higher education!!
Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks and best to all.

I'm sure that there is a course out there somewhere, but "dumping" EC may not be the best solution; lets keep looking.

Yes, it's not my 1st choice to do. I'd prefer to finish with EC. I will see how TESC applies them in 3-4 weeks. For the record (and a different thread), the person I spoke to at TESC was incredibly pleasant, patient and helpful. I don't say that about too many people. Also for the record, the people at EC have been very nice as well. I like the Big 3 for customer service, I must say. I just don't like how they apply credits! LOL
So far I have found:
ECE American Dream. Not easy by any stretch but best 6 credit bang for the buck(s).

What is your major? Have you considered shifting to a business degree? It's easier to get your upper level credit via examination. Also, I find employers look at a business degree a bit more favorably.

Dantes - Civil War & Recon, Money & Banking and Rise & Fall of Soviet Union exams are the only A&S UL exams that can be taken.
For other short term courses - Most state colleges summer terms are split into (2) 6 or 8 week terms. You actually even might find courses that start the second term next Monday. What state are in?

Yes I am considering it, however I would need many more business core credits (plus statistics). For Lib Arts, I need 18 UL and any math and I'm done.

You could get that from ALEKS, take all three of the STAT courses. Even though ACE suggest that all three should be UL. I only received UL credit for their Stat - Beh. Sci. course. I forgot all about ALEKS, $20 one month fee could take care of all three courses... What state are you in?

I am in NY. Definitely do not have time or money for B&M summer school. Business would be good, but I'd need stats, a math, 2 accountings, a few finance, ethics, policy and a few I may be forgetting (I have management and org behavior). That's alot of stuff and most of it I'm not interested in and already have a resume that would carry much of that weight.
I am leaning towards: DSST Civ War, DSST Soviet Union and 4 ECE's to be determined (lots of Psych probably since I already studied for the Psych GRE).
Thanks for the input.

What you listed seems to be the best way to go... just doing exams. I have been told that the ECE Research Methods, Gerontology and Adult & Aging should be taken in that order, due to overlapping information. The summer term courses I was in reference to, would have been online courses. The route that you listed I think is also the right one though.
