Does anyone know a way besides DSST to get the CCAF approved speech credits? I'm in the ANG formerly active duty but I'm trying to knock out the speech requirement so I can get my ccaf degree before I get out. I'm trying to get overseas employment as a contractor and I'd like a degree to make myself more marketable. Anyon got any Ideas???

I already took the DSST but I bombed it
. I'm trying to get my degree before summer but none of the fast-track courses start until the summer semester. I need some independent study or something that meets the reqs for CCAF. Thanks!

I'm currently taking Public Speaking through BYU. It's enjoyable and self paced. A person easily could finished it in a short period of time.Since it's independent study, you could enroll right now but you would have to wait a week or so to get your access number in the mail. No book required.

I did my speech class through Brigham Young University extended studies. Check it out. It's very easy and not that expensive. All you needed was a tape recorder and no textbooks required.
Good Luck!

I appreciate the quick responses. It looks like I'll be taking this course soon but I had one more question. Is there any way I can use the Mongomery GI Bill to pay for this? The tuition fee says it's like 400+ dollars.

I have just completed Public Speaking course offered at AMU that satisfies your oral communication requirments for your CCAF. Its an eight week long course and I only conducted three speaches throughout the course. The funny part is that you aren't required to send in a video feed of your speech, an audio speech will be accepted. Good luck.

how do you do your exams? do you just record yourself doing your speeches? does that take the place of a "proctored" test? Thanks!

No proctored exams with BYU Public Speaking. A bit of reading material and the speeches. It's a very helpful course.
