Everyone's toughest exam was..

tampalizard Wrote:I took the ECE statistics yesterday. I almost didn't finish because I was so sure I failed. I began to panic after I didn't know ANY of the first six answers...then I thought. If I fail...then what? When I realized I would just pick up and go on I decided to finish...and I got a B. Go figure.
On the other hand...I took the ECE Ethics UL today. It was SURPRISINGLY difficult for me. I took the DSST ethics and got a good score.Excelsior lets you do their ethics for UL even if its a repeat of ethics....I don't know why but this is the only class they let you repeat?!. Anyway...They have scenario after scenario and the scenarios are on a pop up screen. You have to go back and forth from the questions to the scenarios...over and over. I guess it may be my touch of OCD but I found that VERY distracting. Combine that with the woman sitting in the next cubby who constantly muttered loud enough for me to hear, the guy behind me that tapped his foot and the woman next to him that tapped her desk with the mouse...INTERMITTENTLY MIND YOU....so my mind could not establish a pattern to the noise and each time she did it, it startled me. It was a VERY poor testing experience. I let them know. I did pass but it was VERY difficult.
Lynda,
What did you use to prepare for the ECE Ethics exam?
That's next on my list after ECE Organizational Behavior (6/23). I've been hearing Instacert + the EC practice exam- What do you think? Congrats on passing both of these exams- You're really moving right along! I'm very jealous!
-Need 6 more credits for Excelsior College BS in General Business

Credits to finish:
Operations Mgmt-CSU-Pueblo MGMT 311
Business Policy- CSU Pueblo MGMT 485 or TESC exam???

You and I have much in common. Seeking same degree and same college. I see you plan to take ECE classes Business Strategy and Operations Management...I am in those now! As I said before, I found the test difficult but I think it was more a distraction issue. I can truly say that the only thing I saw on the ECE ethics test that was NOT on the IS flash cards (at least as I remember them) were several questions about Sartre and Neitche. There were MANY questions about UTILITARIANISM, Kantian Philosophy, specism, Sentient being questions. Surprisingly little about the big three----Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. I seem to remember a great bit about them on the DSST Ethics test. I think that if you know the IS questions you know everything you need to know to pass. It seems to me that ECE tests are just less straight forward and require you to use the knowledge in comparing one type of ethic to another. The other difference was that the DSST asked you to decide what was ethical in scenarios while the ECE did not. It simply wants you to identify the type of ethics used. Hope this helps! Good luck. I am sure you will do fine!

I know there are a large number of science minded folks out there, who like, enjoy and do well in science:yet Iam not amongst that group. FOR SURE!!
Anyway, I think I'd have to say my last test, dsst's Environment and Race to Save the Planet. I scored the worst on this test, felt lost in space on this test, Iam sure I got the first twelve or so questions wrong: yet I passed. If you are a nonscience person here's a fair warning for you, do not take this test too lightly or you will be racing to pass this test much less to save our planet.

Good luck and make it happen!!

Ron,

I will be taking this exam on Tuesday morning! EEK!

I have studied Instantcert intensively for this one, and also done lots of external research on the various concepts and terms. I feel ready...but will be studying more between now and Tuesday. I only hope it is enough.

I'm feeling a bit insecure right now after reading your last post.
Cool

Hey Rob, You will do great!! I posted a very expansive listing on this test right after I finished taking it. That list , if you follow it, will cover at least 50 questions of the 104 on the test. I found the test to be more in detail than I expected and more all encompassing than I expected as well. Many questions on the atmosphere, their makeup and position in our solar system. One question for instance was," which area of the country has the most pollution issues?" Dive into pretty hard, get the carbon stuff and chems down and realize you only need a 46 to pass. You can and will do FINE!! Regards,RonCool

I refuse not to answer as I might incriminate myself on how feeble my math skills are.

OK, OK - put the whip away and turn off that damn spot light - it was CLEP College Mathematics!!

I can laugh about it now, partly because it has driven me to this side of insantity and if I don't laugh it will drive me to the other side!!

I'm mad I tell you I'm mad!!! Hahahahahaha......

I was "surfing" through prior posts...looking for posts to do with Statistics (my next exam after the two I'm taking on the 31st)...when I came across this thread. I thought it would be good to get it back near the top so others can post that didn't post before...it's interesting to see what everyone has to say!

And I was personally happy to see you listed Microeconomics as YOUR toughest exam because it was for me too - I HATED IT!!! I was so happy I passed it because I definitely did not want to take that one again!

Let's hear from some others...what was your toughest exam so far??

Even though I passed it with a 61, Humanities was the toughest of the 4 I have taken so far. I thought I was well prepared using REA, IC and COMEX, but I still didn't recognize a lot of the names and quotes used for the literature and art sections. However, I know I did well on the architecture and music sections. I almost didn't report my score. Glad I did though.

The toughest test to take is always the NEXT test on the list.

This is very much the truth. Once I pass a test, I look my list of tests I still need to take and think to myself, “this next one will be hard.”

Maybe it’s just me….

Good luck to eveyone
