EIMT Doctorate Program reputation
#11
Candidate status is just that, they're in the process and many fail to get it... Many institutions starting out will try to get ACBSP and/or IACBE business accreditation for their programs as they want that extra recognition. Some 'iffy' institutions that started off rocky and trying to improve their overall institution would want to get proper accreditation, both in specific programs and the institution as a whole. Getting ACBSP only applies to accounting and business type programs, the institution still needs to get the proper educational accreditation in that country before you want to enroll in that institution.

Member Wrote:Hello!) I saw your answers regarding the topic of EIMT reputation. I like this university, but I have doubts about its reputation despite your answers. I did not quite understand them. Could you please explain your assessment in more detail. I tried to understand what accreditations are needed for a university in Europe or Switzerland to issue diplomas, but to be honest this is a very difficult topic for me.

At the moment, based on the information on the website https://www.eimt.edu.eu/accreditation-an...n%20(QAHE), I saw that EIMT has the following accreditations: EURASHE, ACBSP candidate, OTHM, QAHE, DRPF, AQS QAHE- ISO/IEC 40180:2017, USDLA.

On the university page, I saw a photo that ACBSP visited this university. Also, the building actually exists in Switzerland at the moment. What they wrote about an empty building was based on photos from 2013 taken by Google.

It is also stated that EIMT is a member of EAI in Malta, which in turn has all the required accreditations (MFHEA, EHEA, ENIC-NARIC).

Please clarify whether these accreditations are sufficient for diplomas and degrees to be recognized as valid in Europe? If not, what accreditations does a European university need?

EIMT now in Association for Transnational Higher Education Accreditation (ATHEA). Shailendra N Kulkarni the rector of EIMT have PhD and very good reputation. This is his profile on LinkedIn <removed>

Basically, I can't explain, It'll just be a repeat of what I mentioned in each of my posts... It doesn't matter if King Charles being rector of EIMT and having a PhD with a great reputation either, the institution isn't recognized in the country they are in... They're going through loopholes of other country recognition (and they don't have full recognition either).  Plus all the extra false accreditation fluff they have in their accreditation list.  Please review each of my posts and decide if a membership would work for you.  It's like, I've got a Costco membership, now I'm accredited by Costco, membership doesn't equal accreditation, ever...

Am I right in understanding that for diplomas to be recognized they must be in ERIC-NARIC and have an MFHEA analogue (i.e. not Malta, but Swiss accreditation... I don't know the name)?

At the moment their diploma is invalid? Since they have no accreditation in Switzerland or France, where are their campuses located?

It says they applied for membership but I do not see that they are accredited.

It's like being a member of Costco, but not having any money, so you can walk in but you can't actually BUY anything

Also, ISO certification relates to factory safety production standards. It has next to nothing to do with academia. This "school" screams "scam" to me.

I also see that on their accreditations page, it says that they have USDLA accreditation. However, on the USDLA website, I read that USDLA does not issue accreditations, only certifications. So they are definitely lying about that.

For the most part, I try to remain neutral for new institutions starting out, they're in new territory and may not have all the resources and staff either to complete what is required for accreditation, certifications, licensing, etc. This is when new institutions will try to get membership in lesser known or unknown organizations as they think these are valid...

I've seen a few of these, such as Nexford and Newlane, etc... Both of which recently achieved DEAC/NA accreditation, when they were candidate status, they introduced their offerings to DegreeInfo and/or DegreeForum. It took them a while to get there, institutions who are going on the accreditation path have to go through many hurdles to get there...
