I noticed in the Specific Exam section for A & I Lit an entry in the thread mentioned ( if I understood correctly) an essay as being part of the exam. Is the essay required or optional & is the exam still worth 6 credits without the exam? Please correct me if I've misunderstood.

This depends on your school. At TESC, the essay is not required and the exam is still 6 credits.
