Exactly. CP is able to help students in high school or HS grads, and point them in the right direction. From what I see on this Forum, many people wish they'd found IC and testing out sooner—well, CP starts students on that path early on

Aye! Well hopefully Cook's book will provide that knowledge at a MUCH cheaper cost to the families. They'll get pointed in the right direction, at the same age, and save several thousand bucks in the process. We just have to get the book out there!!
Though, like I said before, it'd still be nice to have a one stop website that explains everything simply for free (the degreeforum wiki is about the closest to something like it). The info here is scattered between hundreds of threads and thousands of posts. Free-CLEP-Prep, is also great, but it's mainly geared to helping people, well, prepare for CLEPs and DSSTs.

From CP's website: "It is possible to earn a degree through distance learning working alone. However, some have found this unfamiliar process overwhelming. It is for these students that CollegePlus was designed."
That was me. Had no idea about how to do this distance learning thing. No idea about CLEPs or DSSTs. CP provided the info and taught me how to do it. I'm all for free, but they are doing a great service to those who don't know where to start.

Was the same here, the options seemed clear; either you go to a secular college (never!), or a Christian college (rarely truly good), or just skip the whole thing, and hope employers will choose you on the basis of experience alone!

Do you mean the secular employers or the Christian ones?

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

If you are like me, you want to pass with flying colors - no less than an "A". There are some very helpful online and printable CLEP and DSST practice tests on the Peterson's website. They even have an app you can download so you can take the practice test offline without logging in to the Peterson's website. As far as I can tell, all of the CLEP and DSST practice test are the Peterson's site, including Intro to Sociology. I typically take one test before I begin reading the text so I know which concepts to study most, then take the test again after I study. Since the CLEP subjects have 3 online tests and 1 printable test, you have at least 4 opportunities to gauge your knowledge.

Whichever employer, Prloko, whether Christian or secular...it's hard either way; there aren't all that many who hire on experience alone, they still wonder why you weren't "smart enough" to get a degree, sadly.
That school of thought has been around for too long.
