Hey Everyone!
Just a quick question about the diplomas that UMPI sends out. Today I got a copy of my diploma scanned to me as I needed to send it to the university I am doing my Master's with and I notice that it has the accounting degree name and the Latin honours but makes no mention of the second major in business administration. Is this an error that I should be addressing with UMPI, or do they show it in some other way that I am not aware of?
Just wanted to ask before I go making a fuss.

Did you complete the BA Accounting and the BA Business Administration or the BA Accounting with a concentration? There isn't a Business Administration concentration so it would be something else.

My apologies for the poor terminology on my part.
It was double major Bachelor of Accounting and BBA - Management and Leadership concentration
The UMPI student center report shows it as two plans, one Accounting Major, one Business Administration Major, and a Sub plan of Management and leadership if that makes sense.

So you completed 2 degrees? A BA Accounting and a BA Business Administration with Management & Leadership Concentration, right? I know the concentrations aren't listed on the diplomas like the minors are for some weird reason. I would ask about the second degree though. You should get 2 degrees since they are 2 different majors unless they print them both on 1 diploma. I don't think it's right to only show 1.

I honestly don't know if what I did was technically a second degree, I never viewed it that way. I know I did two majors, so that could totally be it. I just assumed that the second major would be listed somehow on the accounting degree. When I asked the lady for a scan she likely didn't go hunting for a second one. It looks like if that's the case I may need to order another of those fancy frames...ugh, SO pricey but I won't complain.
I'm going to e-mail and find out.
Thanks for trying to puzzle it through with me.

Oooh, good thinking! I only have the unofficial transcript but this is the exact wording;
- - - - - Degrees Awarded - - - - -
Degree: Bachelor of Arts
Plan: Accounting Major
Plan: Business Administration Major
Sub-Plan: Management and Leadership
Confer Date: 2022-04-01
Degree GPA: 4.000
Degree Honors: Summa Cum Laude
Looks like one degree to me from that. I'm sure they'll get me sorted out tomorrow when they reopen for the day.

I would definitely call them tomorrow and ask! I don't see why a double major wouldn't be listed on the diploma. I know Concentrations aren't for some weird reason. Minors are listed on the diplomas though so it's really bizarre that Concentrations aren't.

I reached out to Jessica and Cody, who then contacted the registrar who confirmed it was an error on the printing end of things.
We have been developing a process to get diplomas to our mid-semester graduates more quickly, but there are clearly still a few bugs to work through. Thank you for reaching out to let us know.
They made the correction and resent the amended diploma within an hour or so. As always, they were great to work with.

Glad this all worked out. My first diploma had the wrong date on it. I requested a new one with the correct date. It said I graduated in December 2020 but I actually graduated in March 2021. I just wanted the right year. They sent me a replacement right away.
