UPMI - Bachelor of Liberal Studies - Management Information Systems Minor (Plan?)
#1
I have a friend who would be interested in the (UPMI) Bachelor of Liberal Studies - Management Information Systems Minor degree.  They currently have no credits, but many years working in IT and recently moved into a lower level management role (missing that 'check-box' degree for further advancement). I'm looking for information on the UPMI program itself, as well as guidance on a plan (cost effective, then time). Can all but the 10 required UMPI courses be completed through Sophia? Which courses are best left to take at UPMI (I recall Comp II take at UPMI is best, does that apply to Comp I as well?)

You cannot do everything through Sophia. You'll also want Biology 101L from Study.com and American Government from InstantCert at the very least. You do not want to do English Comp I or II at Sophia.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

I completed the BLS with the MIS minor. I will say that it's not possible to complete only 10 courses at UMPI. You need to complete most of your UL courses at UMPI which you'll need 8 of outside of the minor. You will want to take Eng Comp 1 & 2 at UMPI as well. You also need to complete a minimum of 12 credits in the minor at UMPI.

This here will get you started. The GEC is the general education requirements at UMPI. You'll also have general electives and minor requirements. You'll need classes from Sophia, InstantCert, and Study.com to transfer in as much as possible. No one can tell you how long it will take. It takes everyone a different length of time to complete courses.

GEC:
1A: Complete at UMPI
1B: Complete at UMPI
1C: American Government - InstantCert
1D: Complete at UMPI
2A: Introduction to Psychology - Sophia
2B: Introduction to Sociology - Sophia
2C: Complete at UMPI
2D: Complete at UMPI
2E: Art History 1 & 2 - Sophia
3A: College Algebra - Sophia
3B: Introduction to Statistics - Sophia
3C: Human Biology - Sophia
3D: Environmental Science - Sophia
3E: Intro to Biology with Lab - Study.com
4A: Complete at UMPI - this will be the YourPace orientation
4B: Complete at UMPI
4C: Introduction to Ethics - Sophia
5A: Approaches to World Religions - Sophia
5B: US History 1 & 2 - Sophia
5C: Spanish 1 - InstantCert
5D: Ancient Greek Philosophers - Sophia (It's recommended to take this class before Ethics so it's a bit easier)
5E: American Government - InstantCert
