Just a quick query if anyone has managed to transfer in to UMPI with a high school diploma waiver recently, particulary with alternative credits?
I seem to be have hit a brick wall on the issue, which is very disappointing.

Hi,
What issues are you facing, I want to take the same route as well. I can't seem to get my foreign transcripts evaluated and was hoping to use my AAS for application

I've just had a more full explanation, if a little odd.
I've been told that ACE credits alone won't grant a waiver and would have to be combined with credits from another institution, presumabaly a degree granting institution, which is fair enough, but as WES have evaluated the courses from my RA accredited university courses as being worth 10.5 credits and not 3 credits, they stated they will not consider them for transfer.
That last part about not considering an evaluation of a course that is not the equivalent scale, ie 3 credits, seems a bit baffling and surely that defeats the purpose for many foreigners of having courses evaluated?
Obtaining my high school grades, possibly having to go through WES again, could easily add another $800 and two or three months to the plan. - last time I dealt with WES I was waiting two months on them alone to review some emails.

I had a similar issue 4 months ago.
Briefly - do GED ( ged.com )
You can get all 4 exams very fast, and it will be much cheaper.

Ugh, I did a bit of revision, passed the required pre-tests and went to book my exams - I was sure I'd read they can be done online for international students, but I guess not.
Tried to book a test centre but they're quite far and availability is very limited, not really an option before the coming deadline, very frustrating.

UMPI and the U of M system require either a high school transcript with proof of high school graduation or a previous degree. An associate degree is an acceptable degree so many people were completing the AAS from Pierpont but that's no longer a cost effective option.
