I'm not OP, and I haven't been accused of anything like this, but do you have any good recommends for a good ai/plagerize checker that we should use?
I'm afraid to use one, because I'm afraid that if I put my paper in one, it will be in the memory and then if the teachers uses a checker, it may false flag my text, cuz it would be matching up against my own previous text. If that makes sense...lol
Grammarly (paid subscription) is a tool our family uses all the time. When I was in college, I used Turnitin through the school.

Jamaican here. I'm as black as tar and I had no such issues at UMPI. Please do not play that minority card; just speak for yourself and your PERSONAL issue. Not everything is about race, so leave the rest of us black folks out of this one.
I'm mixed raced with a very ethnic (African) last name and I haven't had any issues at UMPI either. That being said, I hope UMPI give's OP a 2nd chance and OP takes the L and learns from this experience.
OP, can you have some read over your drafts and final assignments before submitting your work? I know you are banned but hopefully you're still in this forum.

Weird, don't know how I missed this thread... I think OP's just looking to 'vent' their frustration in a different way than they wanted. Having said that, there really isn't a need to go that far since you've already taken so many courses from UMPI without issues. You're putting yourself onto the chopping board when you mention irrelevant information, it just makes you look like you're trying to pass without doing much work and putting the blame on UMPI staff when something goes awry.
I agree with the last poster, everyone deserves a second chance when they admit mistakes, but is this for real or are you looking to get the easy way out? Be kind, relay your mistakes and what you can do going forward with not only the professor but other staff members that may give you a second go for that course. Anyways, good luck, take this as a learning experience and don't 'casually' get things done, put in the effort to get the reward you're looking for - the degree.

I'm glad I finished my schooling before the rise of these AI cheats. But, it seriously isn't hard to write a paper. UMPI is very lenient on grammar and paper style. Hell the free Grammarly is good enough for UMPI's professors and more than they need. I never had to do the perfect essays etc. It's literally finding a source, writing about the source, citing the source, and making a coherent argument about your sources connected together.
This individual had posted parts of his paper on the Facebook group and they do seem very similar to how Chat GPT spits data out. Even if he didn't use GPT, he probably paid for the essay from someone who did use it and took his money. He went around accusing everyone of being racist to him for telling him to go through the school's process. He complained about a teacher I had for my Master's program and she was very friendly and down to earth. She even helped me with my paper for the class.
The school has a process for a reason. You get accused of plagiarism? Defend your work. If you didn't steal, pay for the essay, or use an AI, your defense will be easy. If you can't easily defend your work, then it is clear you did something shady.

I missed this thread and didn't see this till today.
I wanted to add a couple of things.
One is that two wrongs don't make a right.
Two is to refrain from:
1. Condescending remarks to forum members
2. Hostile or unfriendly remarks to forum members
3. Stereotyping or othering of forum members
