BLS ( information technology minor) General education?
#1
I have international bachelor degree. UMPI accepted 60 elective credits from that . I want to do BLS minor information technology. What’s general education requirements for me? They don’t want me to have any language class since my international degree cover their that requirement. I am really interested to know which general education are requires for me to getting my degree in BLS.
Thanks

Stop, the more I read your posts/threads, the more I feel you're being repetitive in asking the same questions and not being responsible by providing more details and answering questions or following advice/recommendations. Let me ask you, how many times do you need to ask which courses will take up your general education when it was provided to you already?

Before you continue posting, please provide us more details of why you're not reading your previous threads and creating another one with the same question? I deleted two of your threads and mentioned on your third thread, to follow some steps and another member listed the requirements and the courses that will complete those. Again, did you read it? I will link you to your thread.

I might be a bit too serious, but you need to read. We are here to help, but you need to follow instructions. Link: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...-VS-SOPHIA

I am really apologize. I am new in US education system and very confused. I thought I might don’t need ( many credits for general education ) since I already have bachelor degree.

Yes, I thought UMPI does not require general education credits for students who already have a Bachelor's degree. Did your degree evaluation say that it was the same as an American Bachelor's degree? For some countries or universities, an evaluation may say that they are the same as a certificate or a 2-year American degree, not a 4-year Bachelor's degree.

Unfortunately it’s not equivalent to US bachelor degree. I have 60 credits.
Thanks

Oh, that is why you need General Education courses. The wiki has the easiest way to complete the GEC requirements for UMPI: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UM...quivalents

You should also take Biology 101L from Study.com.

If you are already enrolled, make sure you ask for permission to take these courses. There should be no problem, but you still need to ask.

The OP needs quite a bit to complete a BLS at UMPI. The GEC still needs to fulfilled.

http://catalog.umpi.edu/content.php?catoid=4&navoid=153

These are my typical recommendations for the GEC at UMPI.

UMPI BLS Plan
I. GEC – 40 credits
1A. Take at UMPI
1B. Take at UMPI
1C. InstantCert – American Government
1D. Take at UMPI
2A. Sophia – Introduction to Ethics
2B. Sophia – Introduction to Ethics
2C. Take at UMPI
2D. Take at UMPI
2E. Sophia – Art History 1
3A. Sophia – College Algebra
3B. Sophia – Introduction to Statistics
3C. Study.com Biology101L Biology with Lab or Sophia – Human Biology
3D. Sophia – Environmental Science or Study.com – Chemistry 111L Chemistry I with Lab
3E. Study.com Biology101L Biology with Lab or Chemistry 111L Chemistry I with Lab
4A. YourPace Orientation
4B. Take at UMPI
4C. Sophia – Introduction to Ethics
5A. Sophia – Approaches to Studying Religions or Introduction to Sociology
5B. Sophia – US History 1
5C. InstantCert – Spanish 1
5D. Sophia – Ancient Greek Philosophers
5E. InstantCert – American Government

The OP is currently taking classes at UMPI. Any courses taken outside of UMPI need permission from their advisor to transfer them in for the degree. Usually you complete your transfer courses before starting your UMPI classes. This allows you to focus on your UMPI courses especially since she has posted that she needs to complete 4 classes in 4 weeks and isn't too sure about her English skills since it's not her first language. I would focus on the classes at UMPI right now. After they're completed then I would consider other coursework.

Hi OP... many variables are missing towards your journey. The more details, the better, so we know your current situation. How young are you? Which city/state are you in? Do you have other commitments besides a job? Is there a specific degree or major you're looking for? Are you into alternative credit through test out options or competency based assessments? Most important is, how much time can you dedicate to your studies each day?

I really appreciate your help. I am 43 years old female and had own business before Covid. I have my bachelor degree in education and journalism from Punjab university Pakistan. My bachelor degree is not equivalent to US bachelor degree. I have 60 credits. Now I have time and can invest lot of my time to study. I want to get my degree ASAP so I can work on my master in UX designs. I can get my bachelor in UX design but it’s going to take me lot of time. Best for me is to get my bachelor ASAP.
I might just do UX design certification.
But degrees can open many door for me .
Thanks
