BBA in PM MIS vs BAS with a minor in PM and MIS
#1
Question
I've been working on a BAS with a double minor in PM and MIS for a while now. I am 4 classes away from finishing all my requirements and I have an AAS with an aoe in mis from Pierpont. However when I looked at the program options for this year I found new programs that weren't available before one being a BBA in PM MIS. Does anybody know about this option? Is it better than pursuing the BAS with the those minors?

The BBA (BABA) PM/MIS has been available for years, so it should have been an option when you started. As for which is better, that's up to you to decide. In terms of marketing yourself, the BBA may be marginally better in that most people have a better idea what a business degree is versus an applied science degree. But the project management and management of information systems component of the degree is still there regardless. One thing to note is that minors are printed on the diploma, but concentrations are not, so only the BAS would show PM/MIS, not the BABA, if that matters to you.

I was in the same boat. After talking to many people in tech and recruiting the stem degree is the better option over an arts degree. Im 2 courses away from finishing now. And yes they did remove that at the main page but once you click on it it’s still the dual concentration bba

Thanks for the response, by the stem option do you mean the BAS since it has science in the name?

Yes the BAS is a science degree which is STEM. Adding my minors gives me opportunities to entry level tech jobs which can be jobs like database administration or ERP systems analyst. It all depends what you want to do with the degree. I highly recommend reading posts that BJ and SS post. They have helped me along my journey
