Are these two tests my best bet for my next 6 credits?
#1
I have 6 more credits to earn in any area. I was thinking about taking the Tech Writing DSST because I've heard it's a breeze (I don't understand why the essay is "optional" though. Can someone explain that to me?).

My other 3 credits I was thinking about taking the intro to business DSST for because according to an earlier post, there is a respectable percentage of people who pass it.

Would these two be the easiest to take (least study time- only because I'm pressed for time, not because I'm a slacker. Big Grin )?

I've already taken and passed:
English Comp CLEP
Freshman Comp CLEP
Analyzing Lit CLEP
US History 2 CLEP
Here's to Your Health DSST

Thanks!!

If you know your (very) basic science, the Natural Sciences CLEP is an easy 6 credits. Social Sci. and History is pretty easy too, and they are both worth 6 credits a pop. Take the practice tests in the official CLEP guide (posted somewhere here on the forum I think) and see if you even need to study at all.

I can't speak to the Dantes tests you mentioned because I never took them.

Optional means your school decides whether it's required in order to grant credit for the exam. If your school does not require the essay, you are free to skip it. If your school requires it or you don't know where you'll apply the exam, then it's safer to take the essay.

If you can make it through english comp then tech writing should be a cakewalk. DSST intro to computing is another one that is a cakewalk if you're looking for e-z creditos. Ciao!

FYI, TESC does not require essay on the Tech Writing exam.

I would look at taking Tech Writing, Intro to Computers, and or Personal Finance.

Tech Writing is the easiest course of all CLEP/DSSTs, plus you can get a letter grade if your school accepts letter grades. The scoring scale here http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...es+western shows a 94% pass rate for all students. I took it and it was really easy.

I took Tech Writing. Requires very little study. Also, I took Intro to Computers. You can only get a pass/fail but I found it to be easy. However, I would definitely study the computers exam with IC a few times.

Glad to hear that on Personal Finance. I'm taking that exam Tuesday here in Denver. I signed up here yesterday and started studying right away.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Did pass Dante's "Here's to your Health" with a 440 with minimal study effort. You still need to review terms here though!

Will that be enough study time?
