Anyone find a good MBA program after Excelsior?

According to the Jacksonville prerequisites, they are asking for the following:
MGT 504 Business Organization and Administration (3)
BA 500 Statistics and Quantitative Methods (3)
ACC 200 Principles of Financial Accounting (3)
EC 222 Principles of Macroeconomics (3)
FIN 301 Business Finance (3)
FIN 292 Legal and Social Environment (3)
CBA 390 Operations and Technology Management (3)
MKT 301 Principles of Marketing (3)

If you took these courses at a non-AACSB school, would you have to redo the course?

I know the first 2 you listed wont cross over. No Clep is going to replace a 500 level class. The rest, I am not sure.

So those prereq's that are 500 level are a way of presenting the MBA as 30 credits, when it is really 36. Still better than 48. Hopefully the other items can be CLEPPed out of .

You can also check out Andrew Jackson University. They have a sponsored tuition deal where for a flat fee you can take 1, 2, or 3 courses a semester. You work at you own pace and can finish a fast as you wish. The courses so far have been interesting. I have bachelors with a history concentration but I didn't need to complete any prerequisites to begin the MBA.

All of the pre-reqs were covered for me from the following CLEPS/DSSTS and two courses...

Business Strategy - (EC course needed to graduate with business degree) - covers MGT 504
Financial Accounting - (CLEP) - covers ACC 200
Macroeconomics - (CLEP) - covers EC 222
Principles of Finance - (DSST) - covers FIN 301
Business Law - (CLEP) - covers FIN 292
Operations Management (course at CSU - Pueblo needed for EC business degree) - covers CBA 390
Principles of Marketing - (CLEP) - covers MKT 301

The biggest negative about JSU is that it is not self-paced and most of the courses, other than the summer courses have to be taken as 16-week courses. Thus, it will take a little less than 2 years to complete. But, do not underestimate accreditation. I know that some on here do not think it is a huge deal and I will admit that it does depend on what you plan to do with the degree after you graduate, but if you have any desire to go on to the doctoral level, teach or do government work, then AACSB accreditation can make or break you.

Incorrect, no graduate level courses are required for pre-reqs... the courses they listed are their equivalent pre-req courses if you were to take them from JSU, but that is not necessary... also, I believe there is some leeway on these pre-reqs depending on your work experience.

Hello, I am finishing up course number 4 and it has been a good experience. You log into the school website and you can see the courses you are enrolled in. Each course lists all of the assignments for the semester and you can work as fast as you wish. Each lesson has anywhere from a few pages of reading to as many a 40 pages. There is a multiple choice quiz for each lesson that is a pain but it reinforces the terms and ideas. The lessons are a mixture of case studies and exercises. There are discussion board posts where job experience can come in handy. I don't have a business undergrad so I have to work a little harder to learn some of the lessons. The exams are taken online and monitored by webcam which they supply. I take two courses at a time and work consistently through the semester so it hasn't been easy. A couple of the classes have had a final project made up of a 12 to 14 page paper. It has been writing intensive with all of the case studies. The sponsored tuition makes it a great deal and I don't have a bad thing to say about it so far.

So I guess the exams aren't open book..., are they multiple choice? What are the percentages of each area worth? Are most or all the courses set up the same? It doesn't really sound like it, but do you think it is doable to complete 3 courses in 8 weeks? What exactly do you have to do in the case studies? and 12-14 page papers? I'm sorry I am one of those people that research a class syllabus before enrolling. Now enrolling in the MBA program, there aren't that many classes to choose from, nor that many teachers that would teach differently. Will they allow a student to enroll and start before their conferral date with a letter from the college? Since I plan on hopefully enrolling in August, should I get the ball running now? I'm just so unsure about enrolling with them, but the sponsored tuition is too good to pass up. I figure I could do their AJU's MBA then transfer those credits to a Capella PHD which is a regional accredited college. They told me that since AJU was with CHEA they would accept those credits regardless of them being a nationally accredited school. Just in case you're interest...

I am enrolled in the MBA with management concentration. It is 36 credits and I don't believe there is a project at the end. I looked through their online catalog and did not see one.
