Any Helpful Sites for College Algebra Course?
#1
Hi, I've signed up for College Algebra through LSU. Even with the student guide for the odd questions, I need help. Algebrator has been mentioned on this site. What level of Algebra (high-school or college) does it go up to? Folks have written about...mathway, and purplemath. Do they show the steps? Can you suggest any other sites where I can in-put a problem, and see all of the steps? (Sometimes I have a "duh" moment. I see the steps, and I go, "Oh, yeah. THAT'S how you do it."

I'll be starting on KhanAcademy soon just for the general learning, but I was hoping to add something more to my toolbag. Thanks in advance.

I think you'll find Khan Academy to be really, really helpful! You might not need anything else. Khan used to only have videos, but they've added practice problems now too. It's a great resource!

Go to one of my fav websites interactmath.com (steps below):

InterActMath.com
In the drop down box, scroll to - author and text -- See Recommended Text/Author below (I tend to use the current Ed)

Click on whatever chapter you need extra help. Within each practice problem you have the option to have the software teach you the steps.
 • For each problem you don't know how to solve, look to right there is an icon with a key 'help me solve this'
 • When you click on it another window opens and the software will go through each step by clicking the yellow continue button at the bottom.of the window.
 • There is also a print icon.

I also recommend both PatrickJMT and khanacademy as excellent tutorial sites.

There are many great resources, but I found this one very helpful. There is a monthly charge, but it was well worth the money. Without him, I would never have made it through Calculus I.

Thank you, everyone. Has anyone used algebrator for College Algebra? Does it go up that high?
