I'm prepping for it right now and have 3 weeks until I take it.
Last Friday I took Western Civ and Natural Sciences and scored 60 on both of them.
There is so much noise in my house from my 5 siblings,
it's almost suicidal reading these poems,
but I think I can pep for them and pass in the end. Did you mean to write that as free verse poetry? I think your studying is working.
Wish you the best on your exam,

Well sometimes what I type rhymes for no unintentional reason...
I studied for a month,
two weeks into it I hit the conclusions you can't study for it much.
I'm scoring 55 on my practice tests.
(with the 5 loud siblings in the same small house,
so if I put serious energy into it I could get like 65 on my practice tests)
I'm going to take it tomorrow,
i have to fly from the Big Island to Honolulu so there is money at stake if I fail.
My friend took it and scored 68 and was scoring 50 on his REA practice tests.

Ugh, can't believe they don't have a testing center at least at Hilo or Kona. Kind of ridiculous you have to fly to Oahu just to test.
Well, good luck tomorrow. Try reading the poems out loud (quietly). For some reason that always helps me understand them better.

Yeah it's a total joke,
if that was the case I could take risks and such.
Last time before last I took 4 CLEPs at once to maximize my trip's worth,
each of them took me 20 minutes and I passed 3 out of 4 of them.
I can't complain almost 40 credits in 8 months and it's only cost around $2000 so far.
This time around I will take a ton of time because it's poetry
They are remodeling the testing center and the other one in Honolulu has had computer issues.
I more than likely can't take more CLEPs until September after this one.

What an evil test!
It took almost the whole time,
but in the end I scored 61 and got through it.
It is the easiest test in the way of how much you have to study,
although I've never spent more than 20 minutes on a CLEP test before..

I took it tonight and passed with a 70. I didn't even know what the test covered or what it was like.
I thought it was hard. I did not expect to score as well as I did. It was difficult to parse the passages that were written hundreds of years ago. It burned a lot of time parsing the convulated sentence structure in those passages.
You do need to know common literary terms such as simile, conceit, rhetorical question, metaphor, omnomatopoeia, etc.
I ran out of time and rushed through the last two questions. I write professionally and I'm a fast reader. If you're not, maybe you should stay clear of this one.

I passed this with flying colors! I got the REA book. What helped me the most was reading the answers and analysis to the practice test. The book told you why only one answer worked for each question. That really helped when I did the test and I got down to two answer and had to choose one.

Also, someday maybe a MS in Forensic Psychology, just for fun. Oh, and a BS in Animal Behavior. And, maybe when I'm 85 a PhD in something fun.
