What are the pros and cons of taking the Analyzing & Interpreting Literature CLEP with the essay vs. without the essay?
I am planning to enroll in TESC and to use the A&I Lit. test for the Humanities section in my business degree.

So, does that mean that you had to write an essay with no preparation?

Are you sure that you even have to do the essay portion of the exam? it's optional and a lot of schools don't require it. I don't know about TESC, but I am sure if you do a search you could find out in less than 5 minutes.
I took the test last month, with less than a hour's worth of studying it wasn't a bad exam at all. I wasn't required to write an essay for my school, so I can't comment on that part of the exam. If you subscribe to IC; there are a few comments on the specific exam feedback thread.
good luck!

I cannot speak for creation but I think he/she meant that some people take the test without knowing there was even an option to write an essay since it is optional.
I'm going to be taking it very soon and I am not going to be writing the essay since I don't see a practical use for it as far as transferring it to TESC. I'm using it to complete my 3 hours of humanities and the other 3 credits for General ed electives. Hopefully TESC will credit it as such.
