Hey guys I'm a Non-US resident from Cameroon and i'll like to do a BABA Project management at UMPI. So if anyone could help clarify some steps i will be delighted. I currently Hold a GCE Advance level and some University credits i got from studying in Cyprus. From the forums, I'm aware I have to convert all my credits to be able to apply and do some Sophia and Study.com. what are the cost effective solutions for international credit conversion you guys recommend and will i need to covert my GCE separately from my uni credits? My studies where all done in English, will i need to take a language test? thanks

How many university credits do you currently have? What subject(s)? I ask because the only thing you need to have evaluated would be the certificate that shows you graduated from high school or the local equivalent. If you only have a handful of credits and/or the credits have little to no overlap with the credits that are required for a BABA PM, it may make more sense to start from scratch with just Sophia and maybe Study.com credits.
When you do an evaluation, the evaluation companies charge about $200US for the first evaluation and $100US for each additional evaluation.
You said your studies were done in English, so you shouldn't need to take an English language test, but are your transcripts also in English or are they in French? If they're in French for whatever reason, you'll need to pay to have them officially translated before the evaluator can evaluate them. And if the transcripts are in French, UMPI might expect an English language test.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

FYI, the PM system doesn't play nice with attached files. If you're going to PM me, please remove any personally identifying information and then upload it somewhere else. Or else all I'll see is something that looks like a random string of characters and no attached file.

@fritzdale, Welcome to the board, please provide more details so we can see the bigger picture, post your details and link us. If it doesn't have personal details, and you don't mind sharing, you can PM me as well. I can take a look at the details and see if there are things we can do to optimize your studies. You should fill in the template and addendum as the info you have in those posts above doesn't cover anything much that is asked for on the template/addendum: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

Okay, so, I think anything below a C- doesn't transfer to UMPI. Assuming that these are the same grades as the evaluation will show for American grades, that means no German, Physics, Calculus, etc.
That leaves you with:
Environmental Engineering Chemistry II 4 credits - C (hopefully, this will show as being a lab science on the evaluation)
Marketing Research in Advertising 3 credits - C+
Soil & Ground Water Pollution 3 credits - A-
Bioengineering 3 credits - A
Environmental Impact Assessment 3 credits - A-
Introduction to Computing 3 credits - B+
Engineering Graphics 3 credits - A
Reading & Writing (ENG101) 3 credits - A
Reading & Writing II (ENG102) 3 credits - A
Organic Chemistry 3 credits - C-
Environmental Engineering Ecology 3 credits - A-
But, this is why you need an evaluation. The evaluator might count the Cameroon Ds as American Cs or might count the Cs as American Ds.
I'm pretty confident in saying, though, that you probably won't need to do English Comp at either Sophia or UMPI. I think the Bioengineering should cover the biological sciences requirement at UMPI? If the EE Chemistry is counted as a lab science, you should have your sciences covered. You'll at least need a foreign language. If you know French, you can do Sophia's French I. I think the rest of the above credits will wind up as electives. Otherwise, you can start following the wiki and complete the recommended GEC requirements.

That's interesting , I'll definitely try to get the credits evaluated. Do you have any recommendations for an evaluation service with a quick turn around?

Any AICE or NACES member would do for academic evaluations, WES is recommended for UMPI.
For grading requirements, here's a reference post: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid401672

WES is pretty notoriously bad. They do have some rare moments of correctness, but those aren't all that common. I would suggest googling your school + "American transcript evaluation" to see if anyone has had a transcript from that university evaluated in the past. Chances are no. But you might also find someone who had theirs evaluated and was surprised (either in a good or a bad way) about the result. That might give you an idea of what evaluator to choose... or at least which one to avoid.
