AI in UMPI
#1
Has anyone had and issues with AI at UMPI? What is UMPI AI policy?
#2
Every syllabus includes the instructions about the issue of AI at UMPI, which these days is pretty standard for colleges.

You might want to clarify your question.

Here is an interesting article: https://wp.umpi.edu/utimes/2024/02/27/im...-learning/

If you use it for topic/idea generation, you should be fine. If you use it to write your papers, there's a good chance you'll get popped when they run the paper through their detection software.

I wouldn't touch AI. I'd write my own papers. You'll be caught and the course syllabus discusses AI. It's not a happy topic with most colleges. They're not happy about it. Everything I've read that's AI screams AI and is not written how people talk which is also how people write in general.

I mean what do you think? Its literally standard at every university. Don't use it. Grammarly is fine for grammar though. One of the profs threw a huge fit over it, its an academic integrity violation.

Some colleges have a 0% AI Score allowed, others up to 35%,  Others have noted as long as it's cited properly they don't care.

It's in their handbooks & these are regionally accredited schools non-profit, good colleges.

So the policy for each school is not the SAME.....

Again not rocket science. UMPI uses turnitin which you can use as well. Profs are smart enough to discern the use of direct quotes with proper citations and judge accordingly, regardless of percentage, like MOST schools ( I have been to 5 unis with multiple degrees at this point over a 10 year period). There are no arbitrary hard and fast rules to EXACT percentage, there is more nuance than that.

The fact you have even to ask this question is off. If you can back up for work, it doesn't matter, even if it got flagged.
