CLEP Information Systems & Computer Applications

Hello everyone,
It seems that I was only awarded 3 credits for Amer. Lit. by my school so I need to take another clep.
Is the CLEP Information systems exam mostly general knowledge questions for people that have been using I.S. for a long time? Can I pass it without studying?
Also can I pass Analysing and Interpreting Literature without studying too?
Is it entirely comprehension questions about old poems and essays?

Hi rackwin,

For the CLEP Info Sys & Computer Applications exam, I would read through the Instantcert section just to double check that you understand all the concepts presented. If you already know enough to pass the exam, you won't have any problem with the IC material. But you might pick up a few terms or concepts that you haven't come across before. If it means you can pick up a few extra points on the exam, it's worth investing an hour or so of your time to read through IC. Right?

For the CLEP A&I Lit exam, I would spend a little bit of time going over some basic literary terminology. That's really all you can do to "study" for this exam. Knowing the literary terminology will likely help you answer between 2-10 questions on the exam (depending on the version you get). So it is definitely worth the effort.

(just make sure you know terms such as: allegory, allusion, blank verse, didactic, elegy, hyperbole, satire, simile, soliloquy, stanza, synecdoche, tragedy, etc.)
