I agree actually, despite what you'd find in my signature. My approach was that the minors really were just guideposts for me beyond the History major. Since I already came in with a social science major, a HTY minor, and a bunch of other transfers, I'd only need 5 or 6 HTY courses to wrap up the major. Instead of just adding filler to reach 10, I realized I could throw in a few more targeted classes and complete other minors without going out of my way.
Just like the degree itself, the UMPI minors are pretty meaningless for me professionally. Even the minors from my original BS were happy little accidents. Most people won't see their degree program this way, and I'd say it's usually better just to get 1 minor and get on with your career.
