Anyone had these teachers at UMPI? - MichaelDoesMarketing - 08-24-2023 I have Brian Richards and Tracy L Rockwell for two of my UL business classes. Anyone familiar with either of these teachers? I saw a little bit about them in the Class Master Thread but was just curious if anyone had any additional insight (are they personable, helpful if I reach out, strict, etc.) RE: Anyone had these teachers at UMPI? - ss20ts - 08-25-2023 UMPI refers to them as professors not teachers. There are a lot of new adjunct professors. Anyone familiar with either of these teachers? Having had the privilege of being under the guidance of both, Prof. Rockwell (BUS 321 Human Resource Management) and Prof. Richards (BUS 260 Leadership), I can confidently say that they are incredibly helpful and provide invaluable feedback. Honestly, I have found that all those involved in this program are exceptional, and I can assure you that you won't be disappointed with the level of support you receive from them. Their dedication contribute greatly to the overall quality of the educational experience. I am particularly grateful to Shea, Jessica, Cody, Barbara, Dr. Zaborney, Prof. Ainsworth, Prof. Dorsey, Prof. Lynds, and Prof. Ayala for their exceptional guidance and instruction. RE: Anyone had these teachers at UMPI? - ss20ts - 08-25-2023 You'll find that the YourPace professors are very open to providing help when you need it. Many are happy to have a Zoom call with you to work through any issues with the Final Assessment. Sometimes email just doesn't work well. RE: Anyone had these teachers at UMPI? - bjcheung77 - 08-25-2023 Do they have UMPI professors on the "ratemyprofessor.com" webpage? If so, how have the reviews been for any of the professors? Anyone familiar with either of these teachers? I had them both . Tracy Rockwell was the prof. for BUS321 Human Resource MGMT and was the only prof who emailed me after being added to their course to welcome me to one of their classes and congratulated me for completing their class once I passed the final. I didn't have much interaction besides those two emails , but seeing as UMPI Profs could have anywhere from like 30 to 100 students they are responsible for at any given time , it went a long way that she took the 2 seconds to send those emails . I had Prof. Richards for BUS141 Intro to PM and BUS260 Leadership and he gave good feedback and honestly just wanted you to hit the points in the rubric so he can pass you , it didn't seem like he was overbearing or hypercritical at all . RE: Anyone had these teachers at UMPI? - bjcheung77 - 08-25-2023 Hmm, interesting, the more I see people's signatures for UMPI, the more minors they seem to be adding... Initially, 2 is sufficient, 3 is alright, but when it gets to 4 or 5, I think that's a tad too much. I would get them if all the credits are done already, unless it's a minor you're really interested in... I would check to see if it's worth the extra energy, money, time to get all of them. If it checks out for you, then go for the extra minors... For their minors, you only have to have 9 unique credits for each minor. Because I did the BLS , a lot of my UL courses were in BUS with one in HIST. But then I really enjoyed the 1 HIST class I took with Dr. Z for the ULs, so, I added the Social Studies Minor because I had enough transfer credits where I only needed 4 classes for that minor. Because of all the BUS courses I took as part of my UL electives, and how similar the MGMT and Project MGMT minors are, I looked, and it turned out I was only one class away from the Project MGMT Minor (that I originally started with before switching to MGMT) , so I said "why not, lets just do it. " But then after the MGMT Minor and transfer credits, I was only 3 classes away from the Business Admin minor, so once again I said "Why not". I'm done, I'm just waiting on grades and degree conferral, but , what was only supposed to be 7 classes this term turned into 15 , so yes my brain feels fried RE: Anyone had these teachers at UMPI? - bjcheung77 - 08-27-2023 grogers14 Wrote:I'm done, I'm just waiting on grades and degree conferral, but , what was only supposed to be 7 classes this term turned into 15 , so yes my brain feels fried Congrats! That's awesome, it's an amazing deal if you can finish multiple minors in just the one session! Most will settle for the one or two, I've seen a few with three, hardly seen anyone with more than that. Again, congrats on getting your degree requirements completed in such an orderly fashion and timeline!
