It does make sense to get the Pierpont degree, yes. But do you have any RA credit?
You'll need at least 30 RA credits to get a TESU degree. 6 of those need to come from the cornerstone and capstone. Another 9 credits beyond that establishes residency. Which leaves you with 15 RA credits that need to come from TESU classes or elsewhere. Sophia, SDC, Coursera, etc. are not RA credit. RA credit is credit from an actual college or university.
