HI there,
I'm trying to figure out how I can get a degree done in the next 4 months. I have already taken several courses on Sophia Learning, and I'm attempting to get enough credits in that I can finish a degree at UPMI in one session. I've currently taken Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Visual Communication, Introduction to Psychology, Project Management, Introduction to Ethics, Anatomy And Physiology 1, US History 1, Principles of Finance, Essentials of Managing Conflict, Developing Effective Teams, Introduction to Business, and Managerial Accounting. I'm aiming for one of the Liberal Arts degrees that UPMI offers. I need advice on how I'm going to make this work though. How many credits does UPMI take at once? Also, I need help putting together a plan for myself. I am on a deadline because I need to get a degree so I can move to a different state and help a close family member support themselves. Unfortunately, they'll be out of a home by the end of the year, so I need to go fast and get my degree so I can support both of us. Currently my living situation wouldn't work with that, and I make minimum wage. Such is life, but I see an opportunity here, and I intend to grab it.

Hi there, I need to figure out a degree plan so I can get a degree fast. I have some family members out of state that I have to support or they'll become homeless, so I need to improve my academic outlook so I can make more money when I do this. I've considered UMPI, WGU, TESU, but I don't know enough about these places to make a good determination on what best fits my credits. I'm also working on more Sophia credits now. I would prefer that the degree be as fast and as cheap as possible. Thank you.
Edit: my goal is to relocate to Indiana after I complete my degree.
Your Location: Florida, United States.

Budget: I am willing to spend about 5k right now. I'm not rich, but I'm willing to work hard. I also have access to federal aid if needed.
Commitments: I am currently unemployed, trying to get a degree as fast as possible so I can help support some family members in another state. My goal is to eventually become a teacher. I've been trekking to the library every day and grinding to get as many Sophia credits as possible.
Dedicated time to study: 8 to 10 hours every weekday.
Timeline: I would like to finish as fast as possible.
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: N/A, though I'm not rich so I qualify for about 5k in federal aid.

Is your goal to teach in FL, or are you planning to relocate (to)?

The state's official website should have specific information regarding the requirements you'll need to complete for teaching. Each state's requirements vary. Check the Department of Education website, maybe even call someone, and check the licensing board for the state where you want to teach in. Start there and work backwards; compare state requirements, classes you finished, and schools you listed. Take a close look at WGU for teaching.

@System360, Welcome to the board, great update with the addendum and template, I've merged your threads together for more details. I suggest you do the Pierpont BOG AAS with Info Systems emphasis since you have the Google IT cert. You can ladder that up to the UMPI BAS or BLS with Educational Studies and MIS double minor, plus add the 3-4 classes that can go towards the MAOL later. I suggest the BAS over BLS, the requirements are slightly different and more flexible for the BAS, either way, you won't have enough upper level credits, thus you want to either add a second minor or do the 3-4 classes that can go towards the MAOL.

I am so impressed with the AAS offering from Pierpont CC. The price is not only right; but probably one of the best educational deals in America! It's too bad they won't allow degree holders to earn a second degree.

You need to research what Indiana requires, and what non-traditional paths they offer for those with a bachelor degree (if you opt for that then UMPI is likely your quickest way to completing a bachelor) - I'd recommend you start here: https://www.in.gov/doe/educators/educato...-teaching/ (and their main page here: https://www.in.gov/doe/educators/educator-licensing/)
