For CS, you usually need a CS degree (or at least a STEM degree) to be admitted to a master's program. Not always, but it'd certainly be easier to start from the position of having a CS degree in the first place. And a master's degree isn't always going to be better for computer science anyway. If you can get a CS degree for relatively cheap, why not?
