I agree with what sanantone previously said. Some job listings will state that at least 18 hours of accounting courses is required. Well in that case, the person with a BSBA in Marketing with a certificate in accounting could be a potential hire. At the end of the day, it depends on what ones goals are with it and what types of jobs they will be applying for. If you have the experience required for a position but need X amount of hours in a particular field, then a certificate makes sense.
