Locking in the catalog just means that your graduation requirements in terms of the courses you need won't change. If they decide to make the Residency Fee $22,000, then that's what it will cost you. If they decide to do away with the Strat Mgmt TECEP, then it goes away. If they decide that you need 160cr to graduate, then THAT is what you will be protected from.
I should have worded my comment better. I was more referring to having courses added to the current BSBA plans. I was following a recent thread and I believe it was sanatone who was saying the Oral Com, the Ethics and other classes are newer requirements. I have a plan that I like and that will allow me to utilize Study.com (which I like) for most of it and I won't need to really worry about other companies or credit sources at this point. I have the free and really cheap courses finished that are currently allowed to fulfill certain slots on the BSBA plan and I didn't want to chance having those plans ruined by not locking into this catalog with these specific requirements.
My fear about the TECEP will be there until I take it and it is showing in my Strategic Management slot no matter what happens. I have already started studying people's notes for that test even though I haven't taken any of the business courses yet. If there is an announcement in 2017 that they are stopping that option, I don't want to be completely screwed and have no chance of passing the exam before the deadline hits. I REALLY do not want to have to take a $1500 course on top of the $2000 waiver. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but it seems like a certainty that if the Capstones have made TESU money, they will require the same of all of their degrees at some point.
