I just signed up for IC and recently discovered the beauty of CLEP courses. The first course I am going to take is going to be College Algebra and today is my first day of studying. This is my first CLEP test so obviously I am nervous already. What should I expect going into the course? I have always been pretty good at math, but it has been two years since I last took an Algebra course. I got around a 600 on my SAT math without any prep, and a 29 ACT Math without any prep as well. I am doing well so far with the IC flashcards, but when I get into the graphing and the more visual side of algebra I totally freeze up. Functions and all that I can handle with ease, but the more complex stuff confuses me much more. Any information at all regarding the college algebra CLEP is greatly appreciated and I am very excited to start acing these tests with IC!
Thanks
Since this is your first time in a DIY course (more or less lol) just give yourself a little time to figure out how you learn best. Work through IC, and pull up the great resources people share here for deeper understanding. There is a whole collection of algebra videos over at Khan Academy (I like these better than youtube because they follow a linear sequence and offer practice problems). There are lots more, but Khan is a great resource. Also, I love the Dummies / Idiot's Guides. I have them for algebra, very very useful!
And WELCOME!
