I agree actually, despite what you'd find in my signature. My approach was that the minors really were just guideposts for me beyond the History major. Since I already came in with a social science major, a HTY minor, and a bunch of other transfers, I'd only need 5 or 6 HTY courses to wrap up the major. Instead of just adding filler to reach 10, I realized I could throw in a few more targeted classes and complete other minors without going out of my way.
Just like the degree itself, the UMPI minors are pretty meaningless for me professionally. Even the minors from my original BS were happy little accidents. Most people won't see their degree program this way, and I'd say it's usually better just to get 1 minor and get on with your career.

UMPI has one of the most generous policies about classes fulfilling multiple GERs and Major/Minor requirements . For their minors, you only have to have 9 unique credits for each minor.
Because I did the BLS , a lot of my UL courses were in BUS with one in HIST. But then I really enjoyed the 1 HIST class I took with Dr. Z for the ULs, so, I added the Social Studies Minor because I had enough transfer credits where I only needed 4 classes for that minor.
Because of all the BUS courses I took as part of my UL electives, and how similar the MGMT and Project MGMT minors are, I looked, and it turned out I was only one class away from the Project MGMT Minor (that I originally started with before switching to MGMT) , so I said "why not, lets just do it. "
But then after the MGMT Minor and transfer credits, I was only 3 classes away from the Business Admin minor, so once again I said "Why not".
I'm done, I'm just waiting on grades and degree conferral, but , what was only supposed to be 7 classes this term turned into 15 , so yes my brain feels fried
You were able to receive all those minors from YourPace? I didn't see Business Admin or Social Studies as available options on the list that Jessica sent me. I was just planning on doing Management, Project Management, and maybe History. I'd love a Business Admin minor though.

The UMPI catalog section Academic Programs contains a complete list of minors UMPI can grant with links to requirements for each.

I was charting out the degree path with my transfer courses, saw there was just a sliver missing from most of the minor fields I was curious about, and got them all confirmed in my degree plan. You can investigate the Academic Programs page to see options that interest you. Most of them flat out won't be attainable without significant transfer credits, while others will be tantalizingly just out of reach.
In my case, Social Studies was automatically going to be unlocked, while Intl. Studies and Pre-Law only needed a class or two at UMPI that were going to contribute toward the major anyway. Business Admin is pretty much outside transfers. I originally enrolled with a Philosophy minor since there was so much overlap with those other minors, but I realized later on that the logic course is neither available on YourPace nor as an easy transfer. Switched it to CRJ since it's just 2 or 3 classes to wrap up and it's got entertaining content to boot.

Technically, those minors aren't available in YourPace. YourPace has 5 official minors available. Those minors are on campus minors. Some people have completed on campus minors by utilizing transfer credit and not actually completing most of the minor at UMPI.
