I know there has been a discussion of the Educational Doctorate (EDD) program at South College based out of Knoxville that is actually online in the recent past (1 year) and I think the cost is $6000 per term.
Does anyone know if this is the same price as the Doctorate of Business (DBA) program or is it a different price? I have contacted South College and looked at their website, but, they don't list the tuition price in a very apparent place.
The website lists it as average time to completion between 18-30 months so if I could complete it in 18 months or 3 six month terms, it sounds like I could complete it for about $18,000 at the cheapest up to about $24,000 which is not a bad price.
Thanks,
EducationSeeker

Thanks,
EducationSeeker Tuition is the same for both programs. If you’re on FB search for the group South College CBE Programs Official. It’s one of the featured posts.

It boils down to your commitments and your time management, if you can finish in 3 terms due to a lesser life/work level of commitments, great... if not and you have a limited energy, time, then it'll cost an extra term. I agree with the assessment of 18K for 3 terms and 24K for 4 terms...

From the South College Tuition and Fees page, the EdD and DBA are currently listed together under "Campus Tuition & Fees" ( not under "Online Tuition & Fees"). They are both currently $6,000 per 6-month term.

Jonathan,
Thank you for the confirmation. I also got a call from Lorie at the Knoxville Campus that mentioned it was $6000 per term for the EdD and DBA plus a $295 fee per term so the total price would be $6295 per 6 month term and that they are not offering any scholarships at this time.

Anyone graduate or close to graduating from the South College DBA? Haven't seen any follow up whatsoever from the initial batch that said they were going to attend here. The FB group is also pretty quiet. Wonder if a lot of people dropped

I spoke with an admissions counselor yesterday and they confirmed the price EducationSeeker mentioned. In addition, the lady I spoke with said that textbooks rarely go higher than $400 for the entire program, so it's pretty negligible there.

I haven't seen anyone graduate yet. It will take a minimum of a year. For most people it will take more than a year. It's a lot of writing and researching. It's a very small program. I am on the FB group as well and it's never been very chatty. Probably busy researching and writing in their free time.

I'll chime in here since I'm in the program (and since I've been in stealth mode on this forum for months now, and it's time to make a post).
The first DBA graduate was last month, and was announced on the South CBE FB group (there are two FB groups, "official" and "unofficial"). The official group is used by the South CBE faculty to post program updates, make announcements, etc., and the unofficial group is pretty much dead.
The program is interesting. The CBE approach is different than that of WGU. Just as with WGU, I have no idea how other students are doing or if they are still enrolled other than hearing chatter in the FB group or gleaning information from my mentor.
I did want to add (regarding tuition) if you work in higher education, there is a $1000 per term discount, at least as of the start of the July-Dec term. There are no other discounts I am aware of (I asked).

Can you speak to the quality of the program and the time it takes to complete each course? Is there guidance on the Dissertation phase or is it a Final Project?
