Hi. I'm a UMPI student enrolled in BABA with two concentrations since the Spring session I.
I skipped the Spring session II and Summer session I and will come back from Summer II.
My Questions are:
1. Will we retain access to UMPI YourPace's Student Center page even after our graduation?
2. Assuming my graduation from UMPI at the Summer Session II, will UMPI still issue and mail a physical copy of my graduation certificate directly to my home address if I request them to do so?
3. I came across with some random post saying that UMPI used to spend 1-1.5 months for the diplomas to be mailed manually; however, UMPI recently started outsourcing diploma conferred through Parchment. If that's the case, I assume Parchment can only confer us the digital diploma on Credly or something else. Would it be possible to ask them to issue a physical copy of diploma?
4. I understand that we must manually apply for graduation via YourPace (Student Center -> Other Academic... -> Apply:Graduation/Completion). Will this be necessarily done during my enrollment in the YourPace program? Or, if we retain our UMPI student account after graduation, can we apply for graduation anytime after the completion of full courses?
5. I personally have to have proof of my graduation as of August because of the needs from my future employer.
No matter digitally or physically it is, would it be possible for us to show the proof of our graduation in any format if my future employer requests it soon after August..?
Thanks for your help!

1. You will lose access to all of Mainestreet within a year if you aren't enrolled in courses. This includes Strut.
2. A physical copy of the diploma will be mailed to you after you request it from Parchment.
3. It takes 4-6 weeks after grades are due for degrees to be conferred. This last session it took 8 weeks. Degrees must be conferred before diplomas are issued. You'll get an email stating your degree has been conferred and you will be able to order a physical copy from Parchment. Your transcripts will be reflected the same day as the conferral. You'll be able to get a digital version from Parchment when Parchment emails you. You may see your degree conferral on your MaineStreet account a day or 2 before the Parchment email.
4. There is a graduation application deadline. You have to apply during your term. Why would you want to wait?
5. No one can guarantee your degree conferral date. Proof of graduation won't happen for 4-6 weeks after grades are due and again you must apply for graduation by the deadline in that session.
You've skipped the 2 sessions where you could have had your degree conferred by August. Session 2 doesn't even end until the very end of August. Grades aren't due until September 1st. That's a holiday weekend so nothing will be happening. Your degree probably won't confer until October.

Hello, ss20ts!
I appreciate your taking the time to thoroughly answer my questions about the UMPI YourPace graduation process.
Your detailed explanation about the Mainestreet access policy, Parchment's diploma issuance procedure,
and the crucial need to apply for graduation during my term has brightened me up
and gotten rid of the ambiguity of my understanding of how it works.
I now better understand the process and the importance of timing when it comes to my graduation.
Furthermore, your clarification on the degree conferral date, its correlation with grades submission,
and the potential timeline of events have been crucial in helping me manage my expectations and plan accordingly.
Now that I know the conferral procedure at UMPI may not align with my original timeframe,
I will be sure to let my prospective employer know about this.
Again, thank you so much for your detailed answer and for sharing your knowledge and desire
to assist UMPI students like me in clearly understanding these important details of the graduation process.
Best,
nadaone

In case this is helpful, my daughter's degree (not UMPI) didn't confirm until after she began her first post-graduate job.
The job required a degree.
Her employer was able to confirm with the university she attended that she had met the requirements for graduation and that she was just awaiting conferral. That was enough to satisfy her employer.

Do you retain your @maine.edu email after graduation or do you lose it eventually as well?

You lose that as well. You have access to MaineStreet for about a year and then it's gone along with your email account which I didn't know or I would have downloaded a whole lot more!
