Looking for AAS (have Google certs & Sophia, sdc credits) Pierpont?
#11
Depending on your age, budget, experience, skills, and many other variables that we're not aware of, have you thought of doing a 'speed run' to the finish line instead? What I mean by that is, instead of WGU BSIT, finish with a MSIT at WGU by doing the Pierpont BOG AAS, UMPI BAS or BLS, and the MSIT at WGU, you can finish them all for less than 10K.

Oh wow that does sound like a good plan! I do plan to get a masters as a long standing dream.

Or. . . skip UMPI and just do the WGU accelerated Bachelors to Masters program. Then you can count Master level courses towards your bachelors degree. Plus less time waiting between UMPI and conferral to start WGU and logistical hassle. Plus a BSIT would be better than Lib studies bachelors anyways.

Also be sure to complete one more straighterline course. Because if you do 4 SL courses you get a $1000 per term scholarship at WGU (or least you used to). Anyone got a link to that?

It's $650 per term now. And I don't see it saying how many SL classes you need to have completed. If it's historically been 4, it's probably still 4.

I'm considering the accelerated program as well since it has 4 less classes if one would go for it afterwards. AAS and A+ for an immediate job opening that I have opportunity for/ I've been out of work and have had a really bad last two years with family illness.

I'm confused about sending transcripts (https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Pierpont_C%26TC)
1. I will send HS to the email address. (I had emailed Ms Parks about the two year rule for HS GED and she said it can be relaxed because I am a non-traditional student) - So i'm good on this.
2. ASU 1 credit course - do I have to use ASU transcript service to send transcript to Pierpont?
3. Sophia, SDC, SL - Can I email transcripts or do I have to use their services to send transcripts to Pierpont?

2. Yes. Once your course has been finalized and is on the transcript, you'll need to go to my.asu.edu and use their Parchment service to send the ASU transcript to Pierpont. You should also send the credit to WGU. Not that WGU will use it anywhere, but schools still want to know about all of the credits that you've earned from other colleges or universities.

3. You MUST use Credly for Pierpont. If you try to send a transcript directly from SDC, etc., it will be rejected. If you don't have the Credly badges for all of your classes, you need to do that ASAP.

Oh wow thank you very much! I just got SDC to transfer to Credly, and have requested SL as well (apparently it takes time for SL to show up) BUT SDC are already visible and so is Google IT Certificate!

ASU course seems fairly easy as it looks like a part of Google IT certificate that I had done, hopefully I get the ASURITE ID soon enough. I will not take more than a few hours to do the course.

Would I be able to get the AAS by May? If I'm able to send in everything by 15th of this month.

Whether you can graduate by May or not is something that you need to discuss with Nancy Parks. It might be possible. I'm unclear about whether you've already applied to Pierpont yet or not. If you haven't applied yet, you need to do that now. It can take a week or more to get set up in the Pierpont system, plus getting all your transcripts evaluated.

I've created the account & have sent the application in. They have confirmed receipt of application via automatic email. I guess I will have to wait till I get set up for the school to accept me so I cant transfer the credits via credly -and the 1 ASU credit. fingers crossed THANK YOU

As soon as everything relevant is on your Credly account, you can send it to Pierpont - whether or not you've officially been accepted. This will actually speed up your process and could make the difference between being able to graduate now and being able to graduate in August.
