In addition to that, some people have 'life happens' moments, they need to put the Bachelors on hold. The Pierpont BOG AAS hits the personal goal of getting something completed while continuing to work towards the Bachelors. It's a quicker goal post, people can slowly continue onward to their Bachelors at say UMPI or whatever they have set their eyes on...

Is anyone else having problems accessing the ROAR section of the Pierpont website? Not sure if they're experiencing downtime or maybe it's just me?

It's free. It gives a relatively quick/easy boost to self-esteem and/or resume.
Good stepping stone for transfer into some bachelor's programs as well. With the Pierpont degree, I entered WGU with 66/122 credits completed. Had I transferred the exact same courses in without taking the step of getting the degree conferred, I would've been at 45/122 and would have had to take seven additional WGU courses.
Current: WGU BS, Cybersecurity and Information Assurance (093/122 credits)
Done: Pierpont AAS, Board of Governors: Information Systems emphasis (awarded Dec 2022)

Thanks so much to all in this forum and thread!! I stumbled upon this five days ago. After a few decades, I didn't think I could turn my ancient incomplete education into a degree. In three evenings, I: applied; sent 49 credits via very old transcripts; and completed needed four classes / 12 credits on Sophia.
I have a newb question, though:
While I wait for the acceptance snail mail and login info needed to apply for graduation, I'm wondering about the ability and any advantages of completing and sending more Sophia credits to Pierpont. I already completed an extra three credits, so now at 64. Feel I could easily complete quite a bit more in another day or two. Will Pierpont only transfer in and include on Pierpont transcripts the minimum required for the BOG degree? Or, does sending them even more ACE credits mean the extras will also be on transcripts? And, does that confer more transferability to those extra credits - for WGU, UMPI, or similar bachelor's options?
Thanks again to everyone sharing great info, here!!!

They will use 60 credits to apply for the BOG degree: 15 for the general education requirements and 45 that show up as free electives. If your plan is to transfer the credits to another school like TESU or UMPI, then I'd keep getting as much credits as possible to meet the maximum amount of credits you can transfer it.

No, it does not. A school either accepts alternative credit or it does not. Having it on another school's transcript does not help.

If what raekwon said is what happened, that's not entirely true. Pierpont helped them to have slightly more than half of the WGU degree completed, rather than about a third. That said, I don't know what classes were on Raekwon's transcript. It may be something that cannot be duplicated by others.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Yes, earning an associate's degree can help, but sending in extra credits just to get them onto the Pierpont transcript, which was the premise of the question, will not.

@raekwon, not sure why you're starting WGU without maximizing the transfer credits from Sophia.org/Study.com and so on before enrolling at WGU. I would usually recommend getting up to the max of 90 credits or 75% transferred in before beginning their program at WGU.
@PLEX, you can complete as many ACE credits and apply that towards your Pierpont BOG AAS, it doesn't have to be exactly 60 credits, people sometimes have much more than that. Having said that, it really doesn't help with transferring to a different institution as they look at things differently, it may be or may not be equivalent at each institution.
In short, Pierpont would also 'credit bank' your earned credits just like Credly or UMPI would... It really depends on the person and what they want, I would do up to 90 credits with Sophia.org and send it to Pierpont and UMPI at the same time, so it gets the ball rolling faster for applying/getting into UMPI as there was a time, people fell through the cracks...

I've had my credit audit and met all the requirements to graduate. My diploma will be mailed later this spring. Can anyone tell me if I have to wait until I get the diploma before ordering an official transcript? Would it be available now through ROAR?
