Hi, I have almost done with the BBA degree in UMPI, but I need a credit for a BOL LAB. I see that Sophia just launched the Human biology lab. Does anyone know that it will fulfill the UMPI BOL 105? (I almost complete the BIO lab at Sophia need to see if it will transfer or not to UMPI)
I also want to know if Study.com Biology 101L has fulfilled the UMPI BOL 105 and has a Proctored Final. I don't like a Proctored Final so just asking.

Study Bio 101L does fulfill the requirement. It does have a proctored final, but if you score 100% on the quizes and the labs you only need 10% on the final. It is a long course but totally doable.

Sophia's bio lab is brand new. UMPI accepts Sophia's chem lab so no reason they shouldn't accept Sophia's bio lab. They already accept Human Biology so it should transfer.

I don't think it's official yet, but I would take it and transfer just in case they do accept it. I think it's an easier/faster way than taking the BIO course from Study.com, since you've taken the Bio and almost complete with the lab, it'll be a waste of your energy/time by not completing the lab!

How long does it usually take before we receive official word on the transferability of a course on Sophia? Human Biology with the lab would be so much easier for me than Chemistry with the lab.

There's no set time. Whenever someone completes the course and transfers it to UMPI. That's how we know it is accepted.

Hi, Everyone. Thank you so much for your help on this. So I completed the BIO LAB in Sophia. It was an easy course; I got my touchstone check in 2 days. I transfer this course to UMPI TODAY; let's see if there are going to accept this as BIO 105 OR NOT.

Other users have already confirmed it in the forum, and Jessica has also confirmed this, so all is good. On to the next course!

Hi Ksoul, so you are saying UMPI will accept the BOL LAB from Sophia, and it will fulfill the UMPI BOL 105. If so, it would be wonderful if they will, so I would save the $1400 for a spring semester.

Jessica confirmed this sometime after the release once the Lab section was established to go through Labster. Even before anyone submitted the course, it's pretty easy to deduce they would accept the same Labster course as Study.com. Many comments in the forum were hopeful, and I would have been surprised for UMPI to say no since it would make no sense, and they continue to be very generous with credit transfers.
The only change for future students will be if Sophia can continue waiving the Labster fee for students. One would imagine over time, Labster will want to tap into the revenue opportunity as they have it structured with Study.com.
