UMPI YourPace FAQ
#1
There is a huge, huge, huge, huge, difference between the online programs at YourPace versus the in-person school at UMPI. This FAQ is here to help resolve some of the common misunderstandings.

What is the correct website?
online.umpi.edu is the correct website, pay close attention to the domain that says "online". If you have a http://www.umpi.edu you are very likely viewing irrelevant information (outside the GEC) and it does not apply to the Online YourPace program.

Which Undergraduate Degrees are offered on YourPace?
The only degrees offered are on their website, please note the word onlinehttps://online.umpi.edu/programs/programs.aspx

Bachelor of Arts in:
  • Accounting
  • Criminal Justice
  • English
  • History
  • Political Science
  • Communication & Journalism
Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration:
  • Accounting
  • Management & Leadership
  • Project Management
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Marketing

Bachelor of Liberal Studies
  • Accounting Minor
  • Educational Studies Minor
  • Management Minor
  • Management Information Systems Minor
  • Project Management Minor
Are there associates degrees on YourPace?
No.

But the website said there is a Bachelors in Art, and a Bachelor in Biology Evolution
Are you on the http://www.umpi.edu website or online.umpi.edu website? In person school offers different majors.

But someone got a BAS
This person had an Associates in Science, and Jessica, the program director offered her a unique YourPace choice. If you have an Associate of Applied Science, then ask UMPI's YourPace contacts.

There are proctors?
Please stop calling UMPI and asking them this. The more people ask an educational institution the more the educational institution would consider it, and it is a sign that you are considering cheating. Even if you are not, you have to think of it from the outside perspective. UMPI YourPace finals are almost always projects or essays anywhere from 5-7 pages or 15-20 pages. Very rarely a final will have multiple choice components, but, with these ones you will still have heavy milestones where you have to write to prove your knowledge in order to proceed.

Can I accelerate with UMPI?
Easily. The final is 100% your grade.

What is a passing grade?
A B-, 80% is the lowest grade to pass a class.

Do they take international students?
Yes. They're very friendly to international. Send your transcript via WES.

I am eighteen can I get a waiver?
No. You must be twenty years or older.

Can I do a dual-degree?
Yes and no. The degrees are considered terminal. So if you want to do all the degrees at one time, then yes. But, if you want to do Degree 1, graduate, then do degree 2 in another semester, no. You need to consider it upfront and be vocal with UMPI about your exact plan up front so they can approve it.

Does UMPI have a masters?
One, in Organizational Leadership. https://www.umpi.edu/yourpace/maol/
this is the first YourPace URL That isn't online. website, but it still has yourpace in the URL.

Actually no. The person completely the BAS transferred to UMPI with an AAS degree. That's what I was talking about. The thread didn't even mention the AALS. I'm well aware of the AALS degree on campus at UMPI.

This is very important information. A student needs to do all bachelor degrees in one continous period, if they want a dual degree. It is not just the BAS or BLS degrees that are terminal, but all bachelor degrees. I assume that this rule is specific for the Your Pace program?
On the UMPI online degree site there is an interview with a currently enrolled student who first completed a brick and mortar bachelor degree, before enrolling a second time with the aim of doing an additional bachelor degree through Your Pace.

No, all bachelor degrees are not considered terminal by UMPI. UMPI's BAS and BLS are terminal degrees at UMPI. This is true for on campus students and YourPace students.

Yes you are right. Terminal just means that it is the highest degree awarded in a specifc academic track. It is of course still possible to do a master degree in business after completing a bachelor degree in business.
The Your Pace online format still differs from the conventional brick and mortar format though, as you are not allowed to enroll for a second bachelor degree, after having completed the first one under the Your pace format.
Or am I missreading the original post?

UMPI uses a different meaning of "terminal" and that causes confusion. For UMPI, if you get a BLS from them, you cannot get another degree from them. It doesn't matter if it's during the same enrollment or if you come back later. You may continue on to a Master's degree from them but you cannot get a BLS and then a BA History, for instance.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210
