Again, not pointing fingers at IC flashcards which are a great tool, but is this not the same thing? I have personally seen the same specifc questions on several flash cards, not alot, but some. Do you disagree?

Disagree - No.
That being said I have never seen it, or as a moderator it has never been reported to me either. If you (or any member) has any documented proofand evidence to support same - send it to me via a PM.

The difference is where the information came from. If Steve were creating his study cards by taking the exam and making note of the questions, then yes, it would be a flagrant violation. But I don't believe he does that. I believe he reviews the exam content guides and writes questions after studying relevant texts. I think it would be a good thing if he were more explicit about exactly how he prepares his questions, but as I said before, I have no reason to believe he is doing anything unethical. If the questions in his study cards coincide with questions on the exam, it's a normal result of covering the same subject matter.

IC seems to have been very beneficial to you yet here we are talking about how unethical it is......
Brian,
I think you are being too defensive. IC doesn't need your protection here, it hasn't been attacked. Gary didn't bring up the issue re:flash cards vs Specific Exam feedback until others made the connection, and asked him to comment. I don't really get where your post above came from.
Gary,
I think you are pot stirring. I also think that's okay. It's an interesting question you brought up, regardless of the motivation. Judging by the emotional knee-jerk reaction your post seems to have generated, I suggest you immediately purchase a flameproof suit. Good luck.

I am enjoying this debate myself, it's fun. And I am not taking anything personally or making attacks personally.
I still find it ironic that he uses the tools and feedback to pass all his tests, then decides once he is done to make this topic. Seems fishy! hilarious

Defensive to a degree, yes I concur and I will protect what I feel is being attacked or at the very least being accused of - ethical violations.
IC, it's content, and membership forum in general is one of the greatest learning/teaching tools out there, one that we all have benefited from and one that I would hope would not come under fire for unethical practices.

Shadowless, I've said it many times, and I don't know how to say it more clearly, but I'll try once more. I am not criticizing the IC study cards. I am not criticizing the exam feedback threads generally. I am talking about posting specific questions seen on exams -- a clear violation of ethics policies, and a phenomenon I have not seen on this forum until recently. I've talked at length about how that's different from general feedback and from the IC study cards.
What would be "fishy" about my bringing it up now? If I've profited from unethical practices, wouldn't it be smarter of me to keep my mouth shut (although I suppose I could be unethical and stupid too)? Do you think I want to interfere with others earning their degrees after I earned mine? Do you think I just want to cleanse my tortured soul or something? What motivation can you imagine I might have, other than to make sure that this site and forum that I admire and respect stays above reproach?

See that is where you are wrong, you keep saying up until recently, does that mean the past month? Past year? Or what? Because I have been on here for a year or so myself and the specific exam feedback is the same now as it was then, obviously with more posts.
I find it fishy because you waited until you were DONE using the flash cards and the exam specific feedback before bringing this up, now if they site shut down or the feedback got deleted it wouldn't influence you because you already benefited from it.

The only thing that we know for sure is what motivates ourselves as individuals...when we start attributing motives to others, thats when the wagon wheels start to fall off.
Sometimes being blunt is far more effective than trying to gently approach a sensitive issue. If the purpose of this thread was to serve as a reminder about making sure that you don't cross the line when sharing information, then fine....any assumptions about the motives of other posters or the forum owner, are way out of line.

Not to mention persistent, malicious, ignorant and baseless accusations.
