I searched for a link for my GEC midterm and could not find one so I just want to say to future students
NEVER assume anything(that means make an As* out of U & me). I have only taken one other course at TESC and the mid-term and final were both pen and paper proctored test. The description of both said they would or could include multiple choice or short essay questions. Both of the prior test contained 40 multiple choice questions worth 2 points each and 1 essay worth 20 points.
So in my infinit wisdom I assumed(see above) that this test would be the same. So I studied the self test, I studied vocab terms, I studied flashcards I thought I was ready. I knew I could be a little short on the essay if it was a hard topic, but I had been writing papers like crazy so I figured well I should be able to gaurentee at least 10 of the 20 essay points as long as I nailed the multiple choice I would be fine.
Well was I ever WRONG!!! I go to take the test and there are only 26 multiple choice questions worth 2 points each. And 4 yes I said Four essay questions worth 12 points each or a total of 48 points :- O Needless to say I was in trouble. Well I worked my butt off took every available second and wracked my little brain. I did write 4 plausable essays.
On the other hand, this teacher seems to grade me with a high standard. I have been hanging on to an A-. I have a feeling if she grades these essays with those standards I just blew any chance of an A.
I just wanted to warn others Always be prepared and expect the unexpected.
I have been so lucky with CLEP & DSST test I was sure I would do fine. I have had my smugness cut off at the knees. Worst is I now get to worry and sweat it for weeks. This teacher is not the fastest grader on normal stuff I am sure this will take a while to grade.
