Aspen University...opinions???
#1
I am looking into Aspen for my MBA...Does anyone have any experience with this school. They are offering a complete accredited MBA for $6,000. Seems like the best deal out there. The only catch is that you have to pay $3,000 up front.

Another note about the program there are 11 classes - 33 credits and a capstone project for a total of 36 credits. Each class is only 10 weeks long and there are 5 different sessions to take classes throughout the year. The website also says that there are only 2 proctored exams. It looks like the MBA could easily be accomplished in a year. DETC is the accrediting body. Looks good so far...

Here is the link to the website...
Aspen University

Just wondering if anyone was involved with this school or has looked into it in the past.

Thanks

Thanks for the info Shoto...I never looked at those forums before...great info!

Looks like all of the feedback is pretty good on Aspen. The NA vs. RA thing still bothers me a little bit, but I am slowly getting over it.

A side note...I am going to be taking the GMAT in November to see if I can get into Wake Forest business school. Wake Forest just opened a new MBA campus in Charlotte, NC and they are looking for students. I would probably never get into the "actual" university's MBA program, but I might have a shot with the new campus if I can manage a decent GMAT...It's a 2 year program and it is all on campus, which sucks...but it would look nice on a resume.

Plus, I think my employer will pay for tuition if I get in...we'll see...I'll keep you updated...

Aspen is looking like the likely MBA school for me at this point.

Thanks Again

This is a little late, but a good friend of mine is getting his MBA at Aspen and he is two classes in. He got in at the $4500 (up front) deal. He said it didn't seem like his first instructor looked at his work before grading it. He'd turn in an assignment and it would instantly be graded. He said his second instructor did actually look at his assigments, but only let him know about minor mistakes and the instructor has made no feedback on his actual work. The mandatory $100 notes for each class - he says they are a joke. They are riddled with typos and contain essentially the same information found in the books. But an MBA is an MBA I suppose.

I am actually leaning towards a regionally accredited program. Chadron State looks pretty good. Just curious, does Aspen require you to take the GMAT to get into the MBA program? I could not find that anywhere on their website...

No, they only require you to send them a check. hilarious

edited here -->> Okay.. that wasn't really fair. My friend, did have to write an essay and go through a general application procedure. His grad credits from a prior school were also evaluated.
