To clarify, Sophia's Finance course isn't (well, wasn't a few days ago) listed as transferable to COSC. If I take it now, does it seem likely based upon your personal experience that it will be accepted by COSC?

No one has experience with it yet. It's a brand new course that was released this week. It will take some time before we see where this is accepted and how it transfer in.

Thank you, ss20ts, for responding. Yes, I'm aware that the course is new and folks wouldn't have experience with it. I am curious if, in the past, folks have taken a course that, say, wasn't ACE approved when they started, became ACE approved before they finished, and had COSC accept it.

COSC has tightened its standards on where it will accept classes from, but the idea of not approved/approved may be something that, in another source of courses, has happened.

There is no way of telling just yet because the courses have only just opened up and nobody has transferred them in as of yet. However, there is a good likelihood that they will be accepted but they will not count as UL courses. I'm guessing that they'll bring it in as something like FIN 2XX to avoid giving it UL credit.

They usually go by the ACE recommendations and it's recommended for lower-level credit.

Gulp. I just signed up for Finance. Fortunately, that was before I read Rachel83AZ's review. Aak! Milestone's explaining the correct answer was the ONLY thing that got me through Intro to Stats. I'll try to keep telling myself, "You just need a 70. You just need a 70."

If you're trying to finish it before the 1st, it's very difficult. If you take your time with Principles of Finance, it is going to be much easier. Most of the questions are not math-related, if that helps.

If you start before TODAY, you still have 60 days to finish.....so no rush, right?

There's still technically time to finish a course or two before the free period ends. It's only a few hours, but it's possible for some of the shorter courses. Having done exactly this yesterday, I can confirm that it's possible. But I also think that this is not the ideal way to go through this course.

With costing only $149 for an entire year, won't matter too much if people don't finish. There will be plenty of time.
