Pierpont BOG AAS thread
(06-02-2018, 06:09 AM)echo64 Wrote: Sent in my graduation application and accepted by Nancy Parks. Almost done with these two classes I need by the 11th. Here's hoping I meet August graduation.

Any chance did anyone use the SL environmental science in their transcripts? What did it transfer in as in their pierpont transcripts?

I called on the 1st talking to the registrars office. My Intro to Environmental Science transcript is there. They said it will process soon. I sent it on the 15th of last month.  When it does transfer in, I'll let you know what it comes in as.

They seem to be very overwhelmed at the moment.

I've been emailing back and forth with Nancy Parks for over a year. There has been delay after delay, mostly caused by waiting for transcripts to arrive and be entered into their system. I was told I would graduate last fall (I have 84 credits in their system) but then there was some issue with a computer class so I took and passed the computer/technology DSST in February and asked that the score be sent directly to Pierpont. Since it can take up to 90 days for DSST to send scores, I have checked in periodically on the FELIX system and with Ms. Parks via e-mail. At the 90 day mark, I e-mailed her and the registrar asking if they had received the score (it is still not in FELIX) and if not, how I should proceed. This was 2 weeks ago and I have yet to receive a response. I sent a follow up e-mail last week, again with no response.

Have you tried giving her a call or leaving a voicemail? I think she's basically a one-person show over there.

I sent in my son's application yesterday and forwarded all of his transcripts to Pierpont. I believe he should meet all of the requirements for an AAS without issue.

So, I (he) has never emailed Nancy, is that something I (he) should do? His application went through fine, but besides a confirmation email, is there anything he should do while we wait? Also, is it still taking months to get an initial evaluation? I tried to log in to the Felix, and it doesn't recognize is account yet - not sure about how long that takes either. It said 48 hours, so we aren't there yet.

For your Felix account and evaluation you are most likely looking at a few months. It took about a month or two for my acceptance letter and after that a few months to transfer in credits. I received my Felix log in after my acceptance letter, This is not a quick process and as far as I know she is the only one processing and working with the BOG applications.

You can e-mail her but it will most likely take awhile for her to respond if it's something in depth.

Jennifer, I don’t recall how old your sons are so this may not be an issue, but the BOG AAS is only awarded for those at least two years past high school graduation, and if they graduated early (with a GED for example), they still have to wait until two years after their “traditional” peer group would have graduated. Like I said I don’t recall (or know if you ever shared) ages, so this could be a non issue for your son. Just wanted to bring up a potential issue if he’s within that 2 years still.

I didn't have any issues like some have. Nacy has replied within minutes to hours of emails I send. At most a day.
My first contact with April 5th. I should be graduating in August. I still have my ACE transcripts to send this week.

Thank you, this son is over 2 years out, so all is good. Thank you for that reminder!

Cookderosa, is there any info you need? I used the typical Degreeforum courses, along with a handful of b&m courses. Waiting on my diploma, but still have full accrss to felix.

Oh, and it took me 11 months.

I SHOULD be getting my paper sometime this month (after starting this whole thing last August), so 10 months total here. Odd thing is, my wife applied two weeks after I did and graduated in December. She's had her paper since January :-(

On another note, I requested transcripts via email to send to WGU on 5/10. Didn't get any sort of response, so I emailed Ms. Parks on 6/4. Got a reply back on 6/5, and she had CC'ed the proper person at the Registrar office. My transcripts are in the mail as of yesterday :-)

I don't know if we need anything at this point. He met all the criteria regarding post high school and RA graded CC courses. The rest was filled in using his SL courses. If it takes 11 months he may just about have his BS done too lol
